Chelsea Transfer News: Radja Nainggolan Rejection Amid Latest Blues Rumours
AS Roma midfielder Radja Nainggolan is reportedly set to put an end to speculation he could join Chelsea by signing a new deal with the Giallorossi.
According to La Gazzetta dello Sport (h/t Football Italia), the Blues have made a €40 million (£34.4 million) offer for the Belgian with a €5 million (£4.3 million) annual salary, but he is set to put pen to paper on a new four-year contract that will see him become the third-highest earner at the club with a €4 million-per-year wage packet.
The deal will be struck in September and could reportedly see Chelsea end their interest in him.

Roma are also said to have rejected the fee offered by Chelsea, meaning the Blues would have to up their bid if they go back in for him.
The combative midfielder enjoyed an excellent campaign with Roma last season and you can see some of his best moments here:
Nainggolan is a dynamic player who makes things happen in the centre, be it winning back the ball or helping create and support attacks.
Along with the recruitment of N'Golo Kante, the addition of Nainggolan would seriously improve the resilience in Chelsea's spine.
He would add another quality option for manager Antonio Conte in the middle, providing something of a meeting point between Kante's defensive solidity and Cesc Fabregas' creativity.
Here are his stats from last season, according to Squawka:
| Apps | 35 |
| Goals | 6 |
| Assists | 1 |
| Chances Created | 42 |
| Tackles | 52 |
| Interceptions | 46 |
| Passing Accuracy | 85% |
Unfortunately for the Blues, he appears to be fully committed to remaining in the Italian capital.
According to Roma's official website, earlier in August, he told reporters: "I chose to stay, to remain here. Nothing will change."
Nainggolan had been asked if he would consider leaving should Roma fail to get past Porto in their upcoming UEFA Champions League play-off, so it looks as though Chelsea won't even be able to use that to their advantage if the Serie A side lose.
Provided they keep hold of Fabregas and Nemanja Matic, between that pair and Kante the Blues already have a healthier looking midfield than last year.
However, Mikel John Obi remains an unconvincing back-up, so it may not be overly surprising if another addition is brought in—it's just unlikely to be Nainggolan.
