Foster Gives Dolphins Needed Experience at RB
Miami signed the longtime Houston Texans starting running back to compete with the likes of Jay Ajayi and rookie Kenyan Drake for carries in 2016.
The 29-year-old former University of Tennessee standout has been plagued by injuries in recent years, missing a total of 23 games over the past three seasons.
He appeared in just four contests for the Texans last season before a torn Achilles kept him out for the remainder of the campaign.
Foster was largely ineffective before being lost for the year, as he was averaging a career-low 2.6 yards per carry.
That slow start notwithstanding, Foster has consistently been one of the NFL's top rushers when healthy since ascending to a starting role in 2010, as he is a four-time Pro Bowler and one-time All-Pro selection.
He has rushed for 1,200 or more yards in a season on four occasions and has reached double digits in rushing touchdowns three times.
Foster's inability to remain healthy led to the Texans releasing him, but he has an opportunity to see plenty of playing time in Miami.
