Donnell Coming Off of Injury-Plagued Season
The injury woes have continued a season after Donnell missed eight games because of a neck injury, which was so severe that Giants general manager Jerry Reese feared Donnell wouldn't be able to play in the NFL again, according to Paul Schwartz of the New York Post.
But Donnell was able to make his way back onto the field and compete with Will Tye for the starting job. Through three games this season, Donnell has hauled in eight receptions for 50 yards and one touchdown.
When healthy, Donnell has been a solid target for quarterback Eli Manning. In 2014, his lone full season as New York's starter, he hauled in 63 of 92 targets for 623 yards and six touchdowns.
