Mike Jenkins to Cardinals: Latest Contract Details, Comments and Reaction
The Arizona Cardinals signed veteran cornerback Mike Jenkins on Tuesday, according to Kyle Odegard of AZCardinals.com.
Jenkins, 31, appeared in 14 games for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers last season (five starts), accumulating 17 tackles and five passes defensed.
In Arizona, Jenkins will be fighting with Justin Bethel, Brandon Williams, Harlan Miller and Cariel Brooks for the second cornerback spot opposite star Patrick Peterson. Tyrann Mathieu remains the team's Swiss army knife in the secondary, meanwhile, capable of playing safety and covering receivers in the slot.

Rookie WRs Who Will Outplay Their Draft Value 📈
Adam Schefter of ESPN reported the Cardinals may not be done upgrading the position:
Bethel will be the front-runner for the starting gig heading into training camp, and Jenkins will have a battle on his hands to earn that spot. The 2009 Pro Bowler didn't grade highly in 2015, as Pro Football Focus gave him a 44.4 mark, which was 52nd among free-agent cornerbacks this offseason.
His last two seasons have been disappointing, as he missed all but one game in 2014 with a torn pectoral muscle. The Cardinals will be hoping he can return to the form he showed with the Dallas Cowboys and Oakland Raiders earlier in his career, when he was a regular starter for both teams. But Jenkins will have to prove that his best football isn't behind him.
