Tour de France 2016: Latest Standings, Remaining Stage Schedule and TV Info
Defending champion Chris Froome leads the 2016 Tour de France by one minute and 47 seconds with just five stages remaining.
Following the second and final rest day of this year's Tour on Tuesday, the Team Sky rider—and the rest of the peloton—faces a big challenge in the Alps on Stage 17, but he could have a third yellow jersey almost wrapped up by the end of Stage 18, a time trial in the mountains.
The Briton's main rival before the start of this year's race, Movistar's Nairo Quintana, is almost three minutes back, and his closest challenger after 16 stages is Trek-Segafredo's Bauke Mollema.

Tinkoff's Peter Sagan won Stage 16 at Berne on Monday in a photo finish with Alexander Kristoff to effectively secure the green jersey for the fifth year running, assuming he does not abandon in the final stages.
Meanwhile, Sagan's team-mate Rafal Majka currently heads the King of the Mountains standings, and Great Britain's Adam Yates of Orica–BikeExchange, currently third in the general classification, is in the white jersey. Visit the Tour's official website for full standings in each category.
Froome has been in yellow since his spectacular descent on the Col de Peyresourde saw him win Stage 8.
He almost lost it during a farcical Stage 12 in which he was involved in a bizarre accident on Mont Ventoux and ventured towards the finish on foot, but he was eventually awarded the same time as Mollema, who recovered best from the crash that also involved BMC's Richie Porte:
Froome really made an advance on all his rivals in Stage 13's time trial, as he came second to Tom Dumoulin.
Quintana was hit particularly badly as he finished more than two minutes down on the man he was supposed to run close at this year's Tour.
Indeed, speaking ahead of Sunday's Stage 15, Froome said he now sees Mollema as his main rival for the yellow jersey, per AFP (via Yahoo Sports): "[Mollema]'s ridden extremely well. He was there on Ventoux when I attacked with Richie; he did a very good time trial; I've got to consider him my biggest rival."
But Froome did not rule out a move from Quintana in the last few mountain stages, per Sky News:
"There are a lot of people looking to make up time, so we will look at things a bit more defensively now.
The GC [general classification] is far from over at the moment. Yes, I've got a minute and 45 seconds, but we've seen in this race how quickly things can change. One bad day in the mountains and that advantage can disappear very quickly.
I'm expecting a very testing week, probably tougher than any of the stages we've had up until now, and if Nairo's history is anything to go by in the third week, he was very strong last year and really put me under a lot of pressure. I think we can expect the same again.
"
There could be big changes during the four back-to-back mountain stages to come from Stage 17 with Wednesday's run in the Swiss Alps rightly touted by CyclingNewsTV as a serious challenge, especially after a rest day:
However, Froome has looked imperious so far at the 2016 Tour and will be confident that he can maintain, or even extend, his current lead before the peloton reaches Paris.
