Bryant Out for Season
Thursday, July 28
Adam Caplan of ESPN reported Bryant has been placed on the reserve list by the team and will not play this season.
Bryant Injured After Career Year with Browns
Bryant appeared in 14 games last season, and he recorded a career-high six sacks with the Browns.
The 30-year-old was expected to play a significant role along the Cleveland defensive line in 2016, but an extended absence will complicate things for head coach Hue Jackson's club.
The Browns ranked 28th in the NFL last season with 29 total sacks, and their front seven is devoid of experienced and dynamic players who can wreak havoc on opposing quarterbacks.
And now that Bryant is evidently slated to watch from the sidelines this season, third-round draft pick Carl Nassib out of Penn State could play a far bigger role than expected during his first professional season.
