WWE Superstar Rankings Ahead of June 27 Raw
Quite a few things have changed in the last week, including Roman Reigns' suspension for a wellness policy violation.
WWE is still advertising him for the Battleground main event, so it doesn't look like the violation will affect his push too much, but it's too early to tell how he will be booked after the pay-per-view.
The upcoming brand extension and draft on July 19 are just as much a priority as the Battleground PPV. They might even be more important because they will impact how WWE is booked for the next year.
With all these changes on the horizon, it's more important than ever for everyone on the roster to prove their worth to find a good spot on whichever show ends up drafting them.
Let's take a look and see where everyone falls on this week's Superstar power rankings.
10. Natalya
1 of 10Previous Rank: No. 7
Natalya felt like somewhat of an afterthought during most of the Divas Revolution, but her heel turn at Money in the Bank changed everything.
She is one of the toughest and most experienced wrestlers on the roster, but it's been a long time since she has had the opportunity to be anything but a generic babyface.
Charlotte can't be the only evil woman in the division, especially if WWE plans on splitting the women's division in half when the brand extension goes through.
Natalya is in a position to get herself back to the top, and if the aggression she showed when attacking Becky Lynch is any indication, she will be a force to be reckoned with.
9. Titus O'Neil
2 of 10Previous Rank: Unranked
Ever since Titus O'Neil started going after Rusev and the United States Championship, fans have wondered why they should care.
We finally got our reason on last week's Raw, when O'Neil showed more aggression than he ever has before by decimating Rusev with a vicious attack.
Rusev's insulting his family motivated O'Neil to finally unleash the fury he has kept bottled up as a smiling babyface all this time.
This feud was underdeveloped heading into Money in the Bank, but if they keep going like this, O'Neil and Rusev could have one of the better storylines by the time they get to Battleground.
8. The Wyatt Family
3 of 10Previous Rank: Unranked
The Wyatt Family made its highly anticipated return Monday and instantly entered into a storyline with The New Day.
It's great to see Bray Wyatt back on the mic, but this feud is confusing. Which members of The Wyatt Family will challenge for the tag titles? Will the Wyatts use the Freebird Rule like The New Day, or will someone be left out?
Regardless of what happens down the line, it was nice to see someone new going after the Tag Team Championships.
The Wyatt Family tends to stay out of title feuds, so any storyline involving the group chasing gold will be a breath of fresh air.
7. Cesaro
4 of 10Previous Rank: Unranked
It might seem ridiculous, but Cesaro's clean singles win over Alberto Del Rio on SmackDown was a big deal for The Swiss Superman.
Del Rio almost never loses cleanly, so it was surprising for someone who has traditionally been lower on the card to defeat him with nothing but skill.
This makes Cesaro look great as we head toward the brand split and the draft in July. If used properly, he would be a great asset to either show, especially if he has some momentum.
It's unclear at this point if Cesaro will ever be taken seriously as a main event player, but a win over a former world champion could be a sign that WWE is considering putting him in the hunt for a top title.
6. Sasha Banks
5 of 10Previous Rank: Unranked
Some wrestlers are so popular that the first note of their music makes people leap out of their chairs like Pavlov's dog responding to a bell. Sasha Banks is one of them.
When she returned on Raw, the fans reacted like they were seeing the Beatles on The Ed Sullivan Show. You can't force the WWE Universe to like someone that much. It has to be natural.
Banks' going after Charlotte is a good indication she will be the one to dethrone her as champion, and if all goes well, Banks could be holding the belt by SummerSlam.
5. John Cena
6 of 10Previous Rank: Unranked
Whether you love him or hate him, John Cena is one of the most consistent wrestlers in the history of WWE, which is a big reason why he is always at the top of the card.
He is one of the few people who don't need a title to be considered major players, which may be why WWE is taking so long to have him break Ric Flair's record of 16 championship reigns.
Cena's program with Styles has been great for him because he is finally portraying himself as a confident leader instead of an unbelievable underdog.
If WWE wants to shake things up during the draft, Cena should go to SmackDown. His presence on the blue brand will make it look like management is actually trying to make the shows equal for once.
4. AJ Styles
7 of 10Previous Rank: No. 3
AJ Styles has settled into his role as a top heel nicely. He knows how to get heat from a crowd that wants to cheer for him and has proved on more than one occasion how he can adapt to any style.
His feud with John Cena is going to push Styles to the very top of the roster, but it's his wrestling ability that will keep him there.
Most of his matches have been against top stars such as Chris Jericho, Roman Reigns and Cena, but even his bouts against guys such as Jimmy Uso tear the house down.
WWE may have missed the boat with Styles when he was younger, but the company was lucky enough to get him as an established veteran, and it's clear Vince McMahon has big plans for him, based on how he has been booked thus far.
3. Sami Zayn
8 of 10Previous Rank: Unranked
Sami Zayn had quite the week. Unfortunately, he lost at Money in the Bank, but he rebounded with a victory over Kevin Owens on Raw and a great main event match with Seth Rollins on SmackDown.
WWE is pushing Zayn in a way we don't often see anymore. The company knows how popular and skilled he is, but his rise to the top is going slowly.
Many have compared Zayn to Daniel Bryan, and it's a fair assessment. Zayn is a lovable underdog, and management wants to milk that as long as it can.
Zayn will eventually be a world champion, but it might take a few years of scratching and clawing his way to the top before he has the belt around his waist.
2. Dean Ambrose
9 of 10Previous Rank: No. 1
Seth Rollins and Dean Ambrose switched spots on this week's list for one simple reason: Rollins actually wrestled on Raw and SmackDown, while Ambrose just sat on the sidelines.
Even if his role was limited to promo segments and sitting with the commentary team, Ambrose still had a good first week as champion.
It almost felt like he was carrying himself differently on Monday because he had the WWE World Heavyweight Championship around his waist.
Years of hard work have finally paid off for The Lunatic Fringe, and the fans are fully behind him as their champion.
1. Seth Rollins
10 of 10Previous Rank: No. 2
Rollins has been on fire since returning from injury, and despite not leaving Money in the Bank with the title, he is still considered one of the top stars on the roster.
Earning a shot at the title at Battleground in a Triple Threat match with Reigns and Ambrose puts him right back in the hunt for the belt he never lost.
His performance on Raw was great, but his bout on SmackDown against Sami Zayn pushed him to the top spot on the list.
Rollins and Zayn have history going back several years to when they were both in Ring of Honor, so it was no surprise to see them steal the show with an outstanding match.
Rollins and Ambrose will have to do the heavy lifting in the main event feud, since Reigns is currently suspended. Judging from the way they have carried their storylines in the past, it shouldn't be a problem.
