WWE Money in the Bank: Results That Will Have Biggest Impact at Battleground
WWE Money in the Bank 2016 offered plenty of hints at a bright future for the company's fans, starting with next month's Battleground pay-per-view.
The results and drama of Money in the Bank suggest a number of feuds will continue into next month, and Monday's edition of Raw also hinted at some longer feuds than perhaps expected. So with that in mind, here are the results from Money in the Bank that will have the biggest impact on Battleground.
Rusev def. Titus O'Neil

Most Likely Backlash Heel/Face Turns 🎭
It looks like anyone who thought this feud was going to be a one-match rivalry was mistaken.
Rusev was hugely impressive in his victory over Titus O'Neil to retain the United States Championship, but with the brand split still a few weeks away, this result suggests these two will go at it again at Battleground.
Bigger and brighter challenges await The Bulgarian Brute in the coming months, that much is certain.
However, with O'Neil responding with a savage attack on Raw the night after Money in the Bank, it's clear these two aren't done yet.
The biggest indicator that this rivalry is set to continue at Battleground was the involvement of Titus' children at Money in the Bank, most notably Rusev taunting them after the match.
That adds an element of bad blood that will likely prompt a response from O'Neil in the coming weeks.
AJ Styles def. John Cena
It would have been fair to hope that had AJ Styles gone over John Cena clean, then this short-term rivalry could have remained exactly that, and it wouldn't have gone on any longer.
But the method of AJ's victory, with him having The Club come down to cost Cena a victory, tells us that this rivalry isn't done by a long way yet.
It will undoubtedly go through to SummerSlam, where it will close with a deciding match after Cena likely wins the next meeting at Battleground.
And to be perfectly honest, that's not a bad thing right now. Cena and Styles have both been delivering throughout this feud, with Styles in particular thriving as the hellacious leader of The Club.
With Styles getting an underhand victory at Money in the Bank, there's no way this rivalry closes there. It will run and run for a while.
Dean Ambrose def. Seth Rollins
It seemed logical that WWE would wait until SummerSlam to have the big Triple Threat match between all three members of The Shield.
However, the company has pulled the trigger on that bout a month early, and it is now set to take place at Battleground.
There's no doubt that the explosive finale of Money in the Bank is the result that will have the greatest impact on the card at Battleground.
WWE could have gone a whole host of ways, with the best option perhaps having the bout to determine Ambrose's next challenger at Battleground.
That would have led to a finish like the one on Raw, which set up the dream match for SummerSlam in turn.
Don't be surprised if plans change somewhere along the way and that match is bumped back a month, because it seems strange to have it at one of the smaller pay-per-views on the WWE calendar.
But right now, Ambrose's incredible victory sets up a Battleground show that will carry more intrigue and interest than ever before.
