WWE Raw: Potential Spoilers, Rumors, News and Preview for June 20

Ryan DilbertJun 20, 2016

The wild ending of the Money in the Bank pay-per-view is sure to echo on WWE Raw.

The night closed with Dean Ambrose holding the WWE World Heavyweight Championship, leaving both Seth Rollins and Roman Reigns stunned. The Lunatic Fringe's first moments as champ will highlight Monday's Raw as his former stablemates from The Shield give chase to him.

In addition, the search for a new head of SmackDown will continue. Feuds born or escalated at Money in the Bank will claim a spot on the stage. And as has been the case for the past few weeks, fans will be on the lookout for a number of returning Superstars.

The Talking Stick Resort Arena in Phoenix, Arizona, will play host to it all.

Backstage reports, the Raw preview on WWE.com and what unfolded at Money in the Bank offer a glimpse into the happenings on Monday's Raw. WWE will build on Sunday's momentum and start the slow march to Battleground, beginning at 8 p.m. ET on the USA Network.

News, Potential Spoilers

The bottom of the tag team division just got one of its acts back.

PWInsider.com's Mike Johnson reported last week, "WWE star Konor's WWE Wellness suspension officially ends today, so he is now available to return to action and company storylines as of this weekend."

That opens the door for Konnor and Viktor to get back to business as The Ascension. Although, even when the group was intact, it struggled for TV time.

Alberto Del Rio may be taking the night off after a brutal match on Sunday. Johnson noted, "We've heard from numerous people that Alberto Del Rio was helped out of the arena by several referees after taking a pretty scary bump into the ropes during the final sequences of Money in the Bank."

It's more surprising when the Money in the Bank ladder matches don't result in injury.

Del Rio isn't in any storylines right now, so even if he's just banged up, it would make sense to hold him out for the moment. Hopefully, it's nothing serious.

Cesaro and Alberto Del Rio fall from a ladder.

According to the Wrestling Observer Newsletter (h/t Marc Middleton of Wrestling Inc), there is talk of NXT's Finn Balor moving to the main roster. That may not happen until the draft in July, but his debut is being described as imminent.

Monday's Raw could also see the return of two popular Superstars. As James Caldwell of PWTorch noted, the website for the arena in Phoenix is advertising Bray Wyatt and Sasha Banks for the show, two wrestlers who have been off TV for weeks.

On the other hand, Ryback is on the arena's list of scheduled stars despite his ongoing contract dispute with WWE and not having wrestled since the Payback pay-per-view.

Money in the Bank Fallout

Leading up to SmackDown going live in July 19, former authority figures Teddy Long and Kane have popped up to make their case to take over as that show's general manager.

With that position not yet filled, it looks like we can expect more familiar faces to do the same. The Raw preview teased as much when it asked, "Will we see this trend continue on this week's edition of Monday night's hottest show?"

Vickie Guerrero, Mick Foley and John Laurinaitis are among WWE's most notable options if it chooses to do so.

The Club cost John Cena a win in Money in the Bank's dream match. Luke Gallows and Karl Anderson attacked WWE's golden boy to assure AJ Styles a victory.

Cena is sure to respond on Monday's Raw. The only uncertainty is whether that will lead to him intensifying his feud with Styles or WWE taking the story in a different direction in order to save the Styles-Cena rematch for a bigger stage.

The direction of the narrative involving Becky Lynch and Natalya is obvious—the partners are set to collide. Natalya pummeled Lynch after the duo lost at Money in the Bank.

The Raw preview stated, "Hopefully, we'll learn more about the rift between the team once known as 'Hart and Fire' tonight."

And while Lynch and Natalya are poised to begin their rivalry, Titus O'Neil and Rusev will surely ramp up theirs. At Money in the Bank, Rusev retained the United States Championship with an impressive showing against O'Neil.

It was the champ throwing the result in O'Neil's kids' faces that suggests we'll see more bad blood between these two. The Raw preview reads, "After Rusev spoiled his Father's Day in a disgusting and disrespectful manner, O'Neil isn't going to let The Bulgarian Brute off easy tonight."

The big story on Monday night, though, will involve all three former members of The Shield.

Reigns is bound to be frustrated after losing his title. Rollins will certainly have payback on his mind after Ambrose robbed him of his moment. Ambrose will stand at the center of it all, with the WWE title on his shoulders.

A Triple Threat match between those three men looms. But one has to assume it won't happen until at least SummerSlam. What does WWE do in the meantime with this story?

That and what an Ambrose title reign looks like will be among the biggest things to watch on Monday's Raw.
