WWE Superstar Rankings Ahead of June 20 Raw
Sunday's Money in the Bank pay-per-view featured some great action, surprises and the crowning of a new WWE world heavyweight champion twice in the same show.
After winning a brutal ladder match to claim the coveted briefcase, Dean Ambrose cashed in following Seth Rollins' main event victory over Roman Reigns to win his first world title.
That means every member of The Shield held the title at some point during Sunday's broadcast. Even stables such as The Four Horsemen, the nWo and D-Generation X can't claim something like that.
We also saw AJ Styles defeat John Cena with some help from The Club, Natalya make a shocking heel turn after being the backbone of the women's division for years and The New Day retain their tag titles against three worthy tag teams.
Let's take a look and see where everyone falls on this week's Superstar Power Rankings after Money in the Bank.
10. The Lucha Dragons
1 of 10Previous Rank: Unranked
The Lucha Dragons picked up a win over The Dudley Boyz at Money in the Bank, which puts them back into the hunt for the tag titles after Kalisto spent months as a singles star with the U.S. Championship.
It might seem like a random win, but defeating a team as established as Bubba and D-Von gives Sin Cara and Kalisto a big boost.
The tag team division is thriving, and if two sets of titles are created when the brand splits, The Lucha Dragons will definitely be top contenders for one of them.
9. Rusev
2 of 10Previous Rank: No. 7
Rusev retained his United States Championship against Titus O'Neil in a decent match on Sunday, but the win didn't do anything for him.
The Bulgarian Brute is already a dominant force on the roster, so he should be competing against guys who can pose a real threat to his title reign.
While O'Neil has a lot of great qualities, he didn't feel like a real challenger. He didn't earn a shot at the title by winning a match, and he didn't have any momentum heading into the feud.
If they continue being rivals for another month, the storyline may get better, but it would be more beneficial for Rusev to move on to face someone who has a believable chance at defeating him.
8. Baron Corbin
3 of 10Previous Rank: No. 8
Baron Corbin picked up a decisive win over Dolph Ziggler during Sunday's PPV, capping off their months-long feud and giving him some momentum as he moves on.
Corbin has all the tools needed to be a major heel in WWE. He has the look, size, physicality and drive to succeed.
Nobody will ever accuse Corbin of being a great technician, but that's not what he's trying to be. He is a monster who punishes his opponents with raw power.
Since both midcard titles are being held by other heels, Corbin may have to wait a little longer before pursuing a championship, but at least he can go into his next feud looking like a winner.
7. Natalya
4 of 10Previous Rank: Unranked
Charlotte and Dana Brooke defeated Natalya and Becky Lynch at Money in the Bank, but it was Natalya who made the biggest impression.
After suffering a loss to the women's champ and her protege, Natalya made a shocking heel turn and attacked Lynch, destroying her in the process.
The aggression Natalya showed when attacking her friend was something we haven't seen from her in years, and it was a breath of fresh air.
We shouldn't expect Nattie to join up with Charlotte just because they are both heels, but this turn gives her the chance to explore parts of her character that haven't been seen in a long time.
6. Apollo Crews
5 of 10Previous Rank: Unranked
Apollo Crews hasn't had much to do since being called up to the main roster, but WWE finally pulled the trigger and gave him a big win at Money in the Bank over Sheamus, a multi-time world champion.
Crews is a unique athlete because he doesn't fit into any one category. He is a powerhouse who can fly like a cruiserweight and wrestle on the mat.
When the brand splits in July, Crews will have a better chance to move into the hunt for a midcard title and get his WWE career going in the right direction.
5. Enzo and Cass
6 of 10Previous Rank: No. 3
Despite not walking out with the tag titles, Enzo Amore and Colin Cassady came away from Money in the Bank looking like the biggest threat to The New Day's reign.
Not only were they given several minutes to deliver a promo before the match began, but they were easily the most popular team in the bout.
Every time one of them came face to face with a member of The New Day, the fans exploded. That kind of reaction only comes from real excitement.
Moving forward, Enzo and Cass need to continue building momentum and chasing the tag titles because the crowd clearly wants to see them succeed.
4. The New Day
7 of 10Previous Rank: No. 5
The New Day have been the backbone of the tag team division for the past year, and they continued their long title reign by defeating three other teams at Money in the Bank.
They are getting close to setting the record for longest tag title reign in WWE history, and if anyone deserves to break the record, it's Big E, Kofi Kingston and Xavier Woods.
The Fatal 4-Way match at MITB had some sloppy moments, but as a whole, it was a fun bout with numerous talented competitors doing a good job handling so many moving parts.
Based on how well Enzo and Cass did at the PPV, it's a safe bet they will continue to chase the tag titles for the foreseeable future. But for now, it's still New Day's time to shine.
3. AJ Styles
8 of 10Previous Rank: No 1
AJ Styles may have defeated John Cena because buddies Karl Anderson and Luke Gallows offered some help, but he still beat the face of the company, and that's a big deal.
Fans may complain about the dirty ending, but what we have to remember is Styles is playing the heel in this situation, and heels aren't supposed to win clean.
This is good storytelling whether you agree with how everything went down or not. It opens the door for a rematch at Battleground, and after what we saw in their first encounter, many will be clamoring to see Cena and Styles face each other again.
2. Seth Rollins
9 of 10Previous Rank: No. 10
Seth Rollins shot up the power rankings this week by defeating Roman Reigns to regain the WWE World Heavyweight Championship he never lost.
Regardless of how the night ended for The Architect, Rollins still overcame Reigns in a fair match without any help from The Authority or any of his other past allies.
Rollins' knee held up throughout the physical contest, and he even performed the same move that injured him to show everyone he is 100 percent fit.
It's going to be interesting to see where he goes from here after joining the exclusive club of Superstars who have won and lost a title on the same night.
1. Dean Ambrose
10 of 10Previous Rank: No. 2
Dean Ambrose picked up the two biggest wins of his career at Money in the Bank. The first came when he won the titular ladder match to claim the briefcase containing a guaranteed title shot.
The second came later in the night, when he cashed in said title shot against the newly crowned world champion, Seth Rollins, to become the new world champion himself.
Not only did every member of The Shield hold the WWE World Heavyweight Championship on Sunday, but this marks Ambrose's first reign with the belt.
You can bet Reigns and Rollins will make a case for why they each deserve their rematch on Raw, and it will almost certainly lead to a Triple Threat match at Battleground or SummerSlam.
