Arsenal Transfer News: Gunners Chase Winger Quincy Promes, Top Rumours
Arsenal will battle Tottenham Hotspur for Spartak Moscow attacker Quincy Promes after the Netherlands international impressed for his team in the Russian Premier League.
Promes has been a huge hit at Spartak since signing for the People's Team in 2014, joining from FC Twente.
The £11 million man has now come to the attention of north London's big two clubs, and the player is ready to find a new home after failing to agree on a new deal, according to Russian newspaper Izvestia (h/t Charlie Phillippe of the Express).

The winger has returned 31 goals in only 58 games for Spartak over two seasons, per Phillippe, and is ready for the step up to a bigger team.

Promes has previously been linked with Manchester United in 2015 but is said to have turned down the chance to works with then-Red Devils manager Louis van Gaal, per David Anderson of the Mirror.
Here is video of the player in action for his side:
Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger's bid to sign Jamie Vardy appears to be over after Leicester City offered the player £100,000-per-week to remain with the Premier League winners as they journey into the UEFA Champions League.
BBC Sport reported the wage offer was made after Arsenal triggered the player's release clause but stated that the Gunners "do not plan to improve their offer and are thought to be pursuing alternative options."
Journalist and Arsenal fan Piers Morgan was clearly disappointed with the news:

Vardy also spoke out about the potential transfer while on international duty with England at Euro 2016, and the striker was frank regarding the speculation linking him to Arsenal, per James Walters of the Daily Star.
"It's been easy [to shut that out]," he said. "I'm here to concentrate and focus on England and that's all I'm going to be doing and now we'll just get back on that training field and focus on the next match."
Vardy is hot property at the moment after Leicester's enormous success last season, but it is debatable whether he was the right choice for Arsenal.
The Gunners play a style which does not suit the attacker, and he might have been an afterthought in Wenger's system.
Arsenal certainly need a new striker in the summer transfer window, but Gunners fans will be craving a big name who can bring the goals and offer the side more culture than Vardy.
Vardy is a predator, but Arsenal would not offer him the direct service he thrives on through the channel.
