USA vs. Paraguay: 2016 Copa America Date, Time, TV Schedule and Live Stream

Christopher SimpsonJun 10, 2016

The United States face Paraguay on Saturday in the Copa America Centenario knowing a win will guarantee them passage to the knockout rounds.

La Albirroja will also be targeting a win in Philadelphia as three points will effectively do the same for them because of their superior goal difference to Costa Rica.

Read on for a closer look at what to expect in this key Group A encounter, but first here are all the details you need to ensure you catch all the action:

While a point would all-but guarantee the U.S. a place in the quarter-finals, Jurgen Klinsmann's side will undoubtedly be pursuing the victory.

The German clearly isn't resting on his laurels, at any rate, and he is not considering the eventuality they might lose. Per ESPN FC's Jeff Carlisle, after the USA's 4-0 win over Costa Rica he said:

"

I think that the team understands perfectly how the situation looks, that we have to get things done. They gave everything they have. They know now they've put ourselves back in the driver's seat with that result tonight.

For us, it's not a thought, 'What if we would lose the game?' We never think that way. Some comments today were, 'What if you lose that game?' Why would you think that way? It's three games; find a way to get your points.

"

If they can repeat their excellent performance against Los Ticos, they're likely to sail through the group stage.

The U.S. tore their opponents apart on Tuesday with an outstanding attacking display and strong-all round team effort.

Jermaine Jones' age-defying performance in midfield was a joy to behold, per Carlisle and Goal's Ives Galarcep:

Along with the likes of Clint Dempsey and Michael Bradley, Jones put in a far better shift than he did against Colombia and their improving form and confidence bodes well for their final group game.

Sports Illustrated's Grant Wahl cast his eye over the match and believes that while Paraguay should offer a sterner challenge than Costa Rica, the USA should still progress:

However, La Albirroja should not be underestimated, as football writer Simon Evans warned:

Paraguay showed great spirit and determination in their 2-1 defeat to Colombia—arguably more than the USA did in the opening game—and if not for Oscar Romero's red card they may well have grabbed an equaliser when they created pressure late on.

They'd already pulled one back through Victor Ayala's stunning effort, per the Copa America's official Twitter feed:

With both sides pushing for a win to keep their tournament hopes alive, the match should be a thrilling contest.
