Manchester United Transfer News: Latest on David De Gea, Jose Mourinho Rumours

Manchester United boss Jose Mourinho will reportedly do whatever it takes to keep David De Gea at the club this summer amid fresh reports linking him with a move to Real Madrid. 

According to J.L. Guerrero of AS, the Special One will do "anything and everything" to prevent De Gea from leaving, though he may find it difficult.

Los Blancos president Florentino Perez believes it is his "moral obligation after a personal promise to the player," and until June 15 the stopper has a €50 million buyout clause in his contract, per AS' Tomas Roncero.

De Gea is seemingly still hopeful of a move and wants to sign before Euro 2016 in order to focus on his duties with Spain, and should the move not take place, Real will owe him "compensation of €10.9 million as a result of a private agreement reached last summer," according to Guerrero.

The 25-year-old was a key component in United's back line yet again this season and perhaps the most vital contributor to the Red Devils boasting the joint-tightest defence in the league.

To lose him would be a bitter blow for Mourinho as he looks to return United to their former glory. It would add another position to the list of priorities he must address in the transfer market this summer—back-up goalkeeper Sergio Romero would work as a brief stopgap, but he's a significant downgrade.

It wouldn't be too surprising if the Special One's arrival did tempt the 'keeper into staying, though, while AS also reported that current Real 'keeper Keylor Navas' future is to be decided by Real boss Zinedine Zidane after an outstanding campaign of his own.

The Costa Rican showed he is more than good enough to wear the No. 1 shirt at the Santiago Bernabeu, and he is also well-liked by the Madridistas, so it may be the case that both goalkeepers stay put.
