Stephen Curry Comments on Swollen Elbow After Game 2 Win vs. Thunder

Alec NathanMay 18, 2016

Golden State Warriors point guard Stephen Curry took a hard tumble into the stands during the first quarter of Wednesday night's 118-91 Game 2 win over the Oklahoma City Thunder, but he told reporters after the blowout that his right (shooting) elbow is doing fine following the scare.

"Elbow’s fine," Curry said, according to ESPN's J.A. Adande. "It looks like it has a tennis ball on top of it, but it doesn’t affect range of motion."

Curry also told reporters his elbow swelled up after hitting it on a "metal platform," per Sports Illustrated's Ben Golliver

ESPN.com's Tim MacMahon snapped a picture of Curry at his postgame press conference with a wrap around the elbow:

The NBA's reigning MVP finished Game 2 with a team-high 28 points, 17 of which came during a third-quarter outburst that saw Golden State outscore Oklahoma City, 31-19.

Based on the way Curry performed in the game's third frame, it was clear the fall didn't adversely affect his ability to fire away from long range.

Not only did the defending champions' floor general score 17 points during the pivotal period, but he went on a tear of 15 in a row during a stretch that included a flurry of triples.

The effort also represented redemption of sorts for Curry.

Thunder point guard Russell Westbrook helped propel his team to a Game 1 victory by outscoring Curry, 19-9, in the third quarter of Monday's series opener, per ESPN Stats & Info, but Curry exacted revenge by posting a 17-2 scoring edge in the decisive stanza.

"That was our brand of basketball," Curry said, according to Adande

Come Sunday night, Curry will attempt to lead the charge once again as the Warriors seek to take a 2-1 advantage and steal Game 3 on the Thunder's home floor.
