NASCAR at Dover 2016: Start Time, Ticket Info, Lineup, TV Schedule and More

Chris RolingMay 14, 2016

Kyle Busch sits second behind Kevin Harvick in the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series going into Sunday's AAA 400 Drive for Autism at Dover International Speedway.

Busch led 69 laps last week in Kansas City after starting sixth, stealing a victory to nab checkered flag No. 3 on the season. He now has more wins than any driver, with three names tied at two apiece.

Another win by one of the usual suspects makes Sunday's event more interesting than usual, as those without an automatic bid into the Chase begin to feel more and more pressure by the week.

Drivers to Watch

Martin Truex Jr.

Martin Truex Jr. enters Sunday hunting for his first win.

Martin Truex Jr. seems so close yet so far.

One of last year's best stories (only overshadowed by Busch's epic return from injury, among others), Truex has yet to capture the lightning twice.

Last week was especially heart-wrenching for the Furniture Row Racing star, as he won the pole for the first time this year and went on to lead 127 laps before a pit road incident, causing him to plummet and finish 14th.

In other words, Truex remains stuck at just four top-10 finishes this year and no wins. His reaction after the hiccup, via Fox Sports, said it all:

Truex has plenty of history at Dover, though, including prior wins and a sixth-place finish at last year's event.

Sunday is as good a time as any for Truex to pull in an automatic bid, so keep an eye on the No. 78 car.

Kyle Busch

Busch looks to make it two in a row Sunday.

About Busch.

The No. 18 car isn't just interesting this weekend because Busch pulled in another win last week. It's also worth watching because NASCAR hit his crew chief, Adam Stevens, with a suspension and $20,000 fine, according to FoxSports.com's Joe Menzer:

"

The fine and suspension come as the result of an apparent violation of NASCAR's new policy regarding all five lug nuts to be on all four wheels of a competitor's race car at all times -- although it's unclear to some extent because NASCAR no longer issues specific information to the public about its penalties.

"

How this affects Busch will be interesting to see, though based on how he's run all year, one has to think he'll still be in contention Sunday.

Busch only led 69 laps last week but pulled in the win and now has three consecutive top-two finishes and five over his last six, three of those wins.

Odds are Busch doesn't cool off no matter who controls the crew, which makes the task for those guys still looking to enter the Chase all the more difficult.

Jimmie Johnson

Jimmie Johnson seeks a turnaround after a few odd outings.

Another usual suspect with multiple wins to his name this year, folks know what to expect from Jimmie Johnson at Dover.

The man with double-digit wins at the track has two wins on the season this year and wouldn't mind adding another while also padding his record at one of his favorite tracks.

That said, it has been a drab couple of weeks for Johnson, who has finished 17th or worse in three of his past four outings. It's especially odd given this is the stretch of season he usually loves. He started fifth in Talladega but wound up 22nd, then he started 15th last week in Kansas City before placing 17th.

Some might suggest complacency with a bid secured, but one look at Johnson's reaction to his latest ho-hum effort suggests otherwise:

Johnson has won this race two years in a row and three of the last four, so if there's a place he'll turn things around, well, there's no place like what he might as well call home.

In fact, a duel with Busch down the stretch isn't out of the question, though those drivers hungry for win No. 1 on the season will have something to say.
