Friday Recap

A quiet front nine saw Dodt pick up a single shot at the seventh and while on balance he picked up just one more shot on the back nine, it was an eventful afternoon for the 30-year-old as he maintained his lead at the top of the standings in windy conditions.

He birdied the 10th before chipping in on the 12th, per the European Tour:

Dodt went out of bounds to drop two shots on the following hole, though, and he picked up a shot at the 14th only to immediately drop it again after finding a bunker.

A birdie on the final hole saw him finish strongly. Per the European Tour, he said:

"

I'm trying to embrace the challenge and enjoy the conditions and have fun, rather than trying to hold on and be defensive.

You've got to be as tough as you can and miss in the right spots. I didn't strike the ball as well as I did yesterday, but I missed in the right areas, where I could still get up and down. That was the key.

The chip-in on the 12th was a lovely shot. It came out a little harder than I would've liked but luckily it hit the hole dead centre. I lost my concentration on the next hole, though, which sometimes happens when you make a birdie.

I've always been a pretty good wind player, so I feel really comfortable in these conditions.

"

Behind him was Wang, who endured a similarly mixed but overall positive round. The Korean enjoyed a phenomenal start, sandwiching an eagle at the 13th between two birdies.

Bogeys at the 15th, third and sixth cost him most of his gains, but he salvaged the round late on with this birdie at the seventh:

He was disappointed with his performance after the good start but was nevertheless pleased with his position:

Colsaerts has every reason to be delighted with his performance. After shooting three over on Thursday, the Belgian provided the perfect response with an incredible nine birdies on Friday, with his only blemishes coming at the ninth and 16th as he rose 68 places in the leaderboard.

He showed remarkable composure to rescue on his shots, using the blustery conditions to his advantage:

Edoardo Molinari did not enjoy the wind as much:

Nevertheless, he was able to make par once again and provided one of the approach shots of the day with his birdie at the ninth:

It's all still to play for heading into the weekend in Mauritius with Dodt looking like the one to beat, but with Colsaerts roaring his way back into contention and Wang coming into the tournament with sky high confidence after winning in Morocco last time out, it's set to be an intriguing moving day on Saturday.
