Naomi Adds to Injury Woes in Women's Division
Thursday, May 5
The 28-year-old didn't elaborate on the injury beyond tweeting she has torn tendons, adding she hopes to make a quick return.
According to the Internet Wrestling Database, Naomi last wrestled in an eight-woman tag team match in Malaga, Spain, on April 23.
The news comes only a few days after Naomi's tag team partner Tamina went under the knife. In a since-deleted tweet posted Tuesday, Tamina's manager, Dany Garcia, announced the Superstar was having surgery to repair torn ligaments.
Although neither wrestler featured in the WWE Women's Championship picture before her injury, their absences couldn't have come at a worse time. WWE has made big strides to elevate the women's division, which began at WrestleMania 32 when the company finally ditched the Divas Championship.
Naomi and Tamina will be unable to reap the rewards of that push if they're not healthy enough to wrestle.
