New Jaylen Brown Trade Rumors Reveal Team 'Actively Pursuing' Celtics Star After Failed Giannis Deal
The Portland Trail Blazers are hot on the trail of Jaylen Brown.
According to NBA reporters Marc Stein and Jake Fischer, the Blazers are the team "most frequently described as actively pursuing" Brown.
They noted that the Blazers "have been known to covet Brown dating back to Damian Lillard's first tenure with the franchise. And they still do. We've been reporting for some time that Portland was hoping to use Jerami Grant's $34.2 million salary and first-round draft capital to try to get into the trade mix for Giannis Antetokounmpo... while also preparing to shift to pursuing Washington's Anthony Davis if the 10-time former All-Star big man and the Wizards can't come to an agreement on a contract extension when Davis becomes eligible for a new deal in August. But Brown undeniably ranks as another All-NBA talent who entices them."

They also noted that the Charlotte Hornets and Houston Rockets aren't currently in heavy pursuit of Brown.
Landing the Boston Celtics superstar isn't going to come cheap. ESPN's Shams Charania reported earlier on Friday that the team is seeking a massive package for Brown, in some cases four first-rounders:
A potential Blazers deal could look something like Jerami Grant, Shaedon Sharpe and draft capital. Or the Celtics could push for more young talent like Scoot Henderson and Donovan Clingan. Either way, the Blazers could put together some solid trade packages, and pairing Brown with Deni Avdija, Toumani Camara, veteran guards like Jrue Holiday and Damian Lillard and whatever young talent remains would be intriguing.
The trade market for Brown is likely to be vibrant. Two-way wings who just averaged 28.7 points per game don't hit the market often. Keep an eye on the Blazers in those talks.
