Tamina Tweets Following Surgery

Tuesday, May 3

Tamina's manager, Dany Garcia, broke the news Monday she'd be having a surgical procedure after tearing ligaments on WWE's international tour:

On Tuesday, Tamina thanked her family for their support:

The 38-year-old wrestled four times after WWE headed overseas in April, per the Internet Wrestling Database. Her last appearance in the ring came April 23 in an eight-person tag team match in Malaga, Spain. She teamed with Lana, Naomi and Summer Rae in a losing effort against Alicia Fox, Eva Marie, Paige and Natalya.

This is Tamina's second major injury in a little under two years. In June 2014, she had knee surgery, which kept her out of action until Payback 2015 last May.

Tamina started gaining steam when she joined Team BAD during the early stages of the Divas Revolution. In the months since, though, she has fallen out of the spotlight after the company started elevating Sasha Banks, Becky Lynch and Charlotte more as singles wrestlers in the women's division.

This will be another setback in the her career, but given the continued growth of women's wrestling in WWE, Tamina should have the opportunity to make an impact when she's healthy enough to return.
