Tottenham Transfer News: £100M Dele Alli Vow Made Amid Real Madrid Rumours

Tottenham Hotspur's hierarchy have reportedly vowed to keep their star players at the club over the summer and insisted that not even a £100 million bid could tempt them to sell Dele Alli. 

Chelsea dashed Spurs' Premier League title hopes in the clubs' 2-2 draw on Monday night, but it has still been a remarkable season for Mauricio Pochettino's side. And according to a White Hart Lane source, club chairman Daniel Levy "would not even sell [Alli] for £100 million" in the summer, per the Telegraph's Matt Law. 

The 20-year-old midfielder has lit up the English top flight this season and is now being linked with Spanish giants Real Madrid by a "soft article" in Marca (via the Sun's Duncan Wright). 

Wright claimed that the Spanish newspaper "has long been used as the mouthpiece of Real and often does the bidding of the club to help create momentum which results in the club getting their man," citing another former Spurs man, Gareth Bale, as an example of the approach.

However, when Bale was sold to Los Blancos in 2013, Spurs were not the proposition they are now, and the Welshman also clearly harboured a desire to play for Real.

Spurs will be in the UEFA Champions League next season, thanks in no small part to Alli's huge contribution this season, per Squawka:

They will surely challenge for the title again, and Alli is likely to want to remain part of the young, exciting squad that Pochettino has built at White Hart Lane.

He only joined from MK Dons last year and has five years remaining on his current contract.

Alli is on an upward trajectory at Spurs and was a deserving winner of the PFA Young Player of the Year award, per Bleacher Report's Dean Jones:

He is a key part of Tottenham's first team, but it's unlikely he would enjoy that same status at Real if he moved to the Santiago Bernabeu, considering the presence of Bale, Cristiano Ronaldo and the other stars in the Los Blancos squad.

Levy and Tottenham are clearly adamant that Alli—and the likes of Harry Kane, Eric Dier, Hugo Lloris, Toby Alderweireld—will stay at the club and help Spurs onto even better things next season.

Given Tottenham's prospects now, it seems much more likely that they will be able to hold on to their top stars even if Real come knocking.
