Shenzhen International 2016: Saturday Leaderboard Scores and Highlights
Soomin Lee holds a two-shot lead heading into Sunday's action after the third round of the 2016 Shenzhen International was suspended due to darkness Saturday. Callum Shinkwin is second after making a serious charge with a 10-under 62.

Day 3 Recap

Shinkwin managed to finish his entire round before darkness fell in Shenzhen, and he took full advantage of it. The 22-year-old Englishman carded eight birdies, an eagle and no bogeys to jump 35 spots on the leaderboard into solo second.
He posted a one-under 71 in each of the first two rounds, leaving the 367th-ranked golfer completely off the radar heading into the weekend. But he put together perhaps the best round of his pro career to get back in the mix.
Professional boxer and cousin Miles Shinkwin commented on the terrific effort:
The European Tour highlighted one of several top-grade shots he made during the memorable performance, in this case a long, winding putt:
Completing his round also serves as a nice advantage for Sunday. Every other main contender aside from Thorbjorn Olesen must play at least a little extra golf in the morning to finish. Lee, the leader, still has seven more holes left in the third round.
If Shinkwin is able to maintain his composure and remain near the top, the extra rest should help him down the stretch of the final day.
On the flip side, Lee wasn't playing his best golf Saturday, so perhaps the suspension came at a good time to give him a chance to regroup. The South Korean made it look easy over the first two days to build a three-shot lead, but he was just one-under after 11 holes Saturday.
Afterward, he admitted there were some jitters as he held the weekend lead, as relayed by the European Tour:
"I was a little bit nervous today but it turned out okay because I was chipping it well and I was making short putts so that kept me feeling confident.
I will just try and hit the fairways and hit the greens and just focus on keeping bogeys off the card.
This week is really helping my game and my confidence. When I played in Malaysia, I felt very nervous but if I have a chance towards the end tomorrow, I think I will be better this time.
"
Sunday will become a physical test to see if he can hold off the competition for 25 holes. But getting a mental break to regroup after a sluggish start to Round 3 should offset that potential disadvantage.
Elsewhere, Paul Dunne finds himself five strokes off the pace, but it could have been a lot worse. He found himself among the trees and a long way from the hole on the fifth before pulling off an amazing escape for an eventual par, as showcased by the European Tour:
Another one of the day's top highlights came courtesy of Matteo Manassero, who's currently seven shots back. He popped a delicate bunker shot high into the air and watched as it dropped perfectly and rolled into the cup for a birdie, which the European Tour spotlighted:
Ultimately, Lee remains the golfer to beat thanks to his two-shot edge, but the tournament is still wide open heading into Sunday. Shinkwin's 10-under showing illustrated there's still time to make a move, even for those not on the first page of the leaderboard.
The playing conditions are going to play a role, too. The Weather Channel forecasted thunderstorms in Shenzhen on Sunday with a 100 percent chance of precipitation. So it will probably come down to which player best handles a soft course in what could become a delay-laden day.
For now, Round 3 is scheduled to resume at 6:30 a.m. local time Sunday morning.
