IPL 2016: Leading Run-Scorers, Top Wicket-Takers, Averages and More T20 Stats
Kolkata Knight Riders captain Gautam Gambhir made another key contribution with the bat against Kings XI Punjab on Tuesday to move further ahead in the Orange Cap standings for most runs scored in the 2016 Indian Premier League.
His run-a-ball 34—paired with opening partner Robin Uthappa's 53 from 28 balls—set KKR up nicely to chase down the 139 target set by KXIP with 17 balls to spare and move them to the top of the IPL standings.
Gambhir now has 226 runs from four innings in IPL 9, with Gujarat Lions' Aaron Finch second in the run-scoring stakes having hit 191 from three innings.
Here are the updated standings for the Orange Cap, along with the best averages, top wicket-takers and best bowling figures so far in this year's tournament.

Gambhir may not have been the top scorer for KKR against Kings XI, but he was the perfect foil for fast-scoring Uthappa, and the pair put on 82 together for the first wicket.
Indeed, the opening stand proved vital as none of Kolkata's other batsmen got more than 12, but the work done by Gambhir and Uthappa was enough to see them over the line with ease.
It was yet more proof, as if it were needed, that Gambhir is one of the most accomplished IPL batsmen ever, with more half-centuries than any other player, per ESPN Cricinfo:
From the four innings the 34-year-old has played so far in IPL 9 he has made 38 not out, 64, 90 not out and 34.
That kind of consistency at the top of the order is of huge value in any side, and if Gambhir and Uthappa continue to perform as they are then KKR could go a long way in this year's competition.
Tuesday's clash in Mohali also saw Sunil Narine take his first wickets of this year's tournament in his second match since his reworked action was deemed legal by the International Cricket Council.
The off-spinner played a key role in keeping KXIP's total down to just 138 as he took two wickets—those of Wriddhiman Saha and Glenn Maxwell—for just 22 runs from his four overs.
Narine was KKR's top wicket-taker in both 2014 and 2012 when they won the IPL, and his contribution is likely to be key again if they are to make the knockout rounds this year.
Wednesday's match sees Mumbai Indians host Royal Challengers Bangalore with both sides looking for their second victories of the tournament so far.
While Mumbai have already played four matches, RCB are set to play for only the third time in IPL 9.
However, Virat Kohli and AB de Villiers are both already well set in the top 10 run-scorers having both scored back-to-back 50s.
Indeed, though they lost out to Delhi Daredevils on Sunday—thanks to Quinton de Kock's magnificent century—RCB have arguably proved the best batting outfit so far with totals of 191 and 227.
If either—or both—Kohli and De Villiers can find their groove again against Mumbai and move up the batting charts, then RCB should seal a second victory of the tournament on Wednesday.
