Dennis Schroder Out Remainder of Season with Ankle Injury; MRI Revealed Sprain
Atlanta Hawks point guard Dennis Schroder was diagnosed with a medial bone bruise and grade 2 left ankle sprain Friday, according to ESPN.com's Bobby Marks.
He will miss the remainder of the regular season and is expected to be fully healthy again in two to four weeks.
In his fifth NBA season, Schroder averaged a career-high 19.4 points, 6.2 assists and 1.1 steals per game while shooting 43.6 percent from the field, including 29.0 percent from three, over 67 total appearances.
The Hawks, who own the worst record in the Eastern Conference, figure to roll with Isaiah Taylor as their primary floor general for the final seven games of the season.
A former undrafted free agent out of Texas, Taylor is averaging 9.6 points and 4.2 assists per game in March.
