Adrien Broner Sentenced for Reckless Driving: Details and Reaction
A little over a week after he surrendered to Cincinnati police on charges of felony assault and aggravated robbery, Adrien Broner is still dealing with legal trouble.
According to TMZ Sports, Broner will serve a 10-day jail sentence after violating a term of his probation in November 2015. BoxingInsider.com shared a copy of Broner's mugshot from TMZ:
On January 11, 2015, authorities in Hamilton County, Ohio, arrested Broner on suspicion of operating a vehicle under the influence. TMZ Sports reported in July he reached a deal with Hamilton County prosecutors in which he pleaded no contest to a count of misdemeanor reckless driving.
Citing court records, TMZ reported the probation violation occurred in November, but Broner only pleaded guilty to the infraction Tuesday morning.
On Feb. 5, Christopher Carson filed a civil lawsuit against the 26-year-old boxer, alleging he beat him and pointed a handgun at him. Carson also alleged Broner or a member of his entourage stole $12,000 in cash.
Broner posted two photos on Instagram on April 4, the first before he turned himself in to authorities and the second shortly before his release:
He pleaded not guilty to the charges the next day and was released on $50,000 bond.
