The WWE announced Thursday that Hall of Famer Robert Windham, better known as Blackjack Mulligan, died at age 73.

Windham was one-half of The Blackjacks, along with Blackjack Lanza. The two held the WWWF World Tag Team Championships for 74 days in 1975, per WWE.com, and entered the WWE Hall of Fame in 2006.

Former WWE ring announcer Howard Finkel and announcer Jim Ross were among those who took to social media following the news of Windham's death:

Few tag teams in the 1970s were more identifiable than The Blackjacks, with its prominent mustaches and cowboy hats. Especially with Bobby Heenan as their manager, The Blackjacks entertained fans across the country:

Even with all he has done in the ring, Windham's connections throughout the business will arguably leave a more lasting legacy than his wrestling career.

His sons, Barry and Kendall, both went into wrestling and won the WCW World Tag Team Championship in 1999. Barry Windham is also a former NWA world and United States champion, and he entered the WWE Hall of Fame in 2012 as part of the Four Horsemen.

Mike Rotunda, who wrestled in the WWF as IRS, in addition to stints in NWA and WCW, married Robert Mulligan's daughter, Stephanie, thus growing the Windham family tree. Grandsons Bray Wyatt and Bo Dallas carried on the tradition and wrestle in WWE.
