WWE Superstar Power Rankings for Week of April 4

The Doctor Chris MuellerApr 4, 2016

WrestleMania 32 featured a lot of great moments, but despite being the biggest show of the year, it felt like something was missing.

It had the usual amount of surprises, appearances by legends, title changes and whatnot. It just didn't stand out as one of the best WrestleManias.

However, many WWE Superstars managed to create WrestleMania moments we will remember for years. Nobody will ever forget the death of the WWE Divas title in favor of a redesigned Women's Championship, and Shane McMahon leaping off the top of the cell will be played in highlight videos for decades to come.

This week's Superstars Power Rankings were heavily affected by the results of Sunday's event. Let's take a look and see who made the top 10.

10. Baron Corbin

1 of 10

After losing to Austin Aries in a physical match at NXT TakeOver: Dallas, Baron Corbin redeemed himself by coming out of nowhere to win the Andre the Giant Memorial Battle Royal.

It seemed like the match was going to be won by Big Show, Kane or Mark Henry. Even Shaq looked like he might have won the trophy at some point.

Corbin bided his time until the only opponent left standing was the Big Red Monster, and he tossed him out. If there was a better way for him to make an impact during his main-roster debut, I can't think of it.

Even if this isn't an official call-up and he spends more time in NXT, the win validated all the hard work he has put in over the last couple of years.

9. Chris Jericho

2 of 10

Heading into the Chris Jericho vs. AJ Styles match at WrestleMania, just about everyone assumed Styles would walk away with the win.

It was his big debut at the event, and it seemed like the most obvious booking decisionespecially since Jericho has been putting others over a lot during his past few runs with the company.

When Y2J caught Styles with a Codebreaker and picked up the victory, it proved he wasn't just a stepping stone for younger talents.

He has played the jealous heel well over the past several weeks, and it doesn't look like he has any plans to slow down. Perhaps he still has another run with the WWE World Heavyweight Championship in his future.

Raw will give us a good idea of whether he is going to move on to a new feud or continue to fight with Styles through the next pay-per-view.

8. The New Day

3 of 10

Of all the grand WrestleMania entrances we saw on Sunday, The New Day's might have been the funnest to watch.

Seeing the three of them come out of a giant box of Booty-O's cereal wearing Dragon Ball Z outfits was epic. It's just too bad their showdown with The League of Nations didn't end in a victory.

The bout was completely overshadowed by the appearances of Shawn Michaels, Steve Austin and Mick Foley in the post-match fight, but at least Xavier Woods gets to say he took a Stunner from Stone Cold at the biggest show of the year.

The New Day still possesses the tag team titles, so in the end, it didn't really suffer any kind of setback. We know it enjoyed interacting with some popular legends and created some fun memories it will remember for a lifetime.

7. Brock Lesnar

4 of 10

Whenever Brock Lesnar faces an opponent, you know you're in for a relatively brutal encounter, and adding a Street Fight stipulation upped the level of violence in his match with Dean Ambrose.

Lesnar looked as powerful and intimidating as ever. He hit over a dozen German suplexes as usual, but he also took a lot of punishment throughout the contest.

Dozens of shots from chairs and kendo sticks likely left him with a few scrapes and bruises, but the superhuman Lesnar will recover quickly like he always does.

We should find out on Monday night if he is going to take a hiatus or if there is a storyline set up to carry him through Payback 2016 on May 1.

6. Dean Ambrose

5 of 10

Despite losing his match to Lesnar, Ambrose came away looking like a force to be reckoned with. He took as much punishment as anyone would have expected and never backed down.

He would have gained more than Lesnar from a win in this situation, but he still gained a lot of credibility in a losing effort.

While it would be great to see him get another chance to defeat The Beast, he will most likely move on from here and enter into a new storyline.

Now that Roman Reigns is the champion, perhaps the former Shield partners can have a friendly feud over the title without either of them needing to turn heel.

5. Shane McMahon

6 of 10

We all expected Shane McMahon to jump off the top of the cell in his match against The Undertaker, but it didn't make the moment any less insane when it actually happened.

To see Shane, a 46-year-old man, take the biggest bump of the night solidified him as one of the most dedicated performers in the history of the company.

The actual match with Undertaker was somewhat underwhelming, but any shortcomings will be forgiven thanks to his risky fall from over 20 feet in the air.

Taker got the win, but Shane is the one who created the most memorable WrestleMania moment of the year. Let's hope he didn't suffer any long-term damage from the fall and he continues to be a thorn in the side of The Authority for a little while longer.

4. Zack Ryder

7 of 10

Zack Ryder has had one of the most hot-and-cold runs in WWE history, but his luck changed on Sunday night when he climbed a ladder and retrieved the WWE Intercontinental Championship in an outstanding ladder match against six other Superstars.

All Ryder wanted was to hear his music play at WrestleMania, but he was rewarded for all his hard work with an actual win nobody saw coming.

Despite being used primarily as a jobber on Superstars for the past couple of years, Ryder has always maintained a good attitude about his situation. He pushes his appearances on social media and continues to support the company that buried him for no apparent reason.

The fans in Arlington, Texas, came unglued when he pushed The Miz off the ladder and grabbed the belt, proving he is still popular despite management's best efforts to keep him down.

Congratulations to Ryder on finally getting what he has deserved for so long. Let's just hope this isn't one of those times where someone wins a title and then loses it the next night in a rematch.

3. Becky Lynch and Sasha Banks

8 of 10

The unveiling of a brand new Women's Championship signaled a change we have all wanted for a long time. The women of WWE are no longer Divas. They are Superstars.

To make things even better, Sasha Banks, Becky Lynch and Charlotte ended up having the match of the night from a technical standpoint, which is something no other woman has ever done in the history of WrestleMania.

Banks and Lynch may have come away from the event empty-handed, but they helped solidify their place on the roster as two of the best performers inside the squared circle.

Banks being accompanied to the ring by Snoop Dogg was a great moment, but the match itself was everything we could have hoped for and more.

The two NXT standouts had to be ranked together because they both made the bout we saw on Sunday night special in their own way.

2. Charlotte

9 of 10

Charlotte is an outstanding heel champion, and her hard work paid off when she became the first person to hoist the new Women's Championship belt above her head in victory.

Many may not like how the match ended with interference from Ric Flair, but we have to remember she is supposed to be a villain.

She gave everything she had to make this one of the most memorable matches of the night, and she deserves just as much credit as Banks and Lynch.

After her victory at WrestleMania, she is finally ready to go off on her own without her father. Knowing she still has room to improve is only going to make it funner to watch her continue making a name for herself in this business.

1. Roman Reigns

10 of 10

Had this been any other standard three-hour PPV, Roman Reigns and Triple H would have stolen the show with the match they had at WrestleMania.

However, seven hours of wrestling wore the crowd down, and everyone just wanted to see the predictable ending we knew we would get and go home by the time the main event started.

However, you have to give Reigns credit for still going out there and giving one hell of a performance against one of the greatest heels in WWE history.

There were so many things that stand out as more memorable than his victory over The Game, but he still won the title cleanly in the main event of WrestleMania, and that has to count for something.

The fans will probably still boo him when he comes out on Raw with the title, but nobody can take his WrestleMania moment away from him.

And let's be honest: That Spear he hit Stephanie McMahon with was pretty awesome.
