WWE WrestleMania 32: Top Takeaways from Latest PPV Event

Aaron BowerApr 4, 2016

WWE always provides fans with plenty of takeaways from WrestleMania, but this year, it was more about the past than the future.

Triumphant returns and appearances from legends are part and parcel of the show every year, but at WrestleMania 32, those instances overshadowed what should have been an important night for many of the company's most exciting talents.

With an up-and-down show still fresh in the memory, here are the biggest takeaways we could draw from WrestleMania 32.

WWE Has No Idea How to Use The Wyatt Family

If The Rock can come out and tell us what we all already know, why can't WWE Creative see it—or at least do something about it?

The Rock admitted that Bray Wyatt had the look, the charisma and the ability, quite blatantly breaking kayfabe to draw a round of applause from the crowd.

Yet in the end, what felt like a promising moment for Bray was just him and his family being fed to The Rock and John Cena.

What does this do for Bray, Braun Strowman and Erick Rowan? Nothing, apart from make them look even weaker than they already were.

Bray's mysterious promos in the run-up to WrestleMania ultimately meant nothing, as he was once again on the wrong end of a beating from someone.

This could have been a big night for Bray. WWE could have had him run in on Brock Lesnar to set up a feud there, or it could have even dared to let him enter the Andre the Giant Battle Royal and perhaps win it.

But instead, we just got further confirmation that WWE has no idea what it is doing when it comes to The Wyatt Family.

Women's Wrestling Is on the Cusp of Greatness

That's if it isn't already considered great, of course.

How refreshing it feels to be able to stop saying "Diva" after all these years. If WWE got one thing seriously right at WrestleMania this year, it was allowing its female competitors to take the spotlight.

You just knew Charlotte vs. Sasha Banks vs. Becky Lynch would deliver, and although the ending was strange with Charlotte winning, the match itself was undoubtedly the standout bout of the night.

Where does the WWE Women's Championship go from here? You'd have to assume the only way is up. Surely, Banks will get another shot at Charlotte, eventually taking the title off her.

And then you'll likely get Bayley stepping up to the main roster, setting up a potential match between The Four Horsewomen of NXT.

Throw talent like Paige into the mix, too, and you've got a division that is seriously going places.

Roman Reigns Is Here to Stay as Champion

He dropped the belt fairly quickly the first two times he won it, but Roman Reigns' third reign as world heavyweight champion is going to be a long one.

It's hard to deduce anything but that viewpoint after WrestleMania, when the company went against the feelings of the fans and put him over clean in the main event.

In truth, WWE had little choice, as it had backed itself into a corner where there was no way out except a Reigns win.

Reigns is now champion after months and months of it getting to this point, and he won't drop it anytime soon.

Who will be his next challenger? That may become clearer on Raw on Monday night, but the sooner Seth Rollins is back in the ring competing, the better it will be for the state of the company.
