NCAA Championship 2016: Top Quotes, Highlights from UNC's Pregame Presser
The North Carolina Tar Heels had a loose, humorous and fun afternoon at their national championship press conference Sunday.
UNC, seeking its sixth championship Monday against red-hot Villanova, has played with a confident bravado throughout the NCAA tournament, winning all five games thus far by at least 14 points.
Head coach Roy Williams and his five starters—Brice Johnson, Joel Berry II, Marcus Paige, Justin Jackson and Kennedy Meeks—met with the media in Houston for a lengthy period.

Report: Biggest Spenders in Men's CBB 🤑
Bleacher Report’s Jason King noted Williams, 65, is as cool, calm and collected as he’s ever seen at this stage in the season:
The 13-year UNC head coach was asked if he’s been manipulating his interviews based on the prospect of retiring. The team was surprised someone even asked such a question, per David Ray Allen of the Daily Tar Heel:
Williams hasn’t appreciated some of the reports that have called his integrity into question, per Carter:
Williams was also asked if his 5’10” height has led to a Napoleon complex. Williams denied that was the case, but his players weren’t as convinced, per Brooke Pryor of the North State Journal and Powell Latimer of the Greensboro News & Record:
Paige and Meeks seemed to express some humorous apprehension to their media obligations, which are coming to an end, per Andrew Carter of the Charlotte Observer and Latimer:
Later, Theo Pinson crashed the press conference after famously doing so earlier in the tournament. Laughs were aplenty again, via Pryor:
On to Villanova—which is coming off a 71.4 percent shooting effort complemented by a stingy defense that won the most lopsided game in Final Four history against Oklahoma—the Tar Heels are well aware of the incredible challenge ahead, per Carter:
The Tar Heels and Wildcats tip off at 9:19 p.m. ET on Monday. Both teams come in on the heels of convincing wins at the sport’s highest stage and have consistently shown the ability to score at will.
Hopefully Monday’s title tilt will present a far more intriguing game than the two blowouts in the semifinals.
