WWE WrestleMania 32: Odds, Final Picks and Predictions for All Matches on Card

Erik BeastonApr 3, 2016

After months of preparation, weeks of television build and hours of anticipation, destiny awaits the Superstars and Divas of WWE in Arlington, Texas, as 100,000 fans will pack AT&T Stadium Sunday night for the biggest WrestleMania of all time.

The broadcast is sure to provide a roller-coaster of emotions, headlined by the war of attrition between Roman Reigns and Triple H for the WWE World Heavyweight Championship. The culmination of a journey that began last November at Survivor Series, it will unfold in front of a record-breaking crowd hellbent on making its voice heard.

Shane McMahon will fight to uphold his family's legacy while also battling for the right to run Raw as he enters Hell in a Cell for a date with his father Vince's greatest creation, The Undertaker. The match is sure to be brutal, violent war with at least one death-defying stunt by wrestling's prodigal son.

Dean Ambrose will battle Brock Lesnar in a No Holds Barred Street Fight, the Divas Championship will be on the line in a historic Triple Threat match and AJ Styles will make his debut on the grand stage as he squares off with Chris Jericho.

The card, for all of the injuries that necessitated changes, is a strong one that should net some tremendous in-ring results.

But who will leave the event victorious and why?

How are the oddsmaker's seeing things ahead of the big show?

Find out for yourself with these final picks, predictions and odds for WrestleMania 32.

United States Championship: Kalisto vs. Ryback

1 of 11

The WrestleMania festivities will begin Sunday night with the Kickoff, airing across a variety of platforms, including the WWE Network and USA. It will feature a United States Championship bout pitting Kalisto against Ryback.

Steeped in Ryback's dismissal of smaller athletes and their inevitable demise at the hands of bigger guys, the match has been wildly underdeveloped.

Despite a heel turn a month ago, Ryback's character is undefined and Kalisto, for as flashy an in-ring performer as he may be, has not evolved in any measurable way as a persona. That makes for an underwhelming experience for fans, even if the sole previous encounter between the two last November proved they have unique chemistry.

The desire to kick the show off on the right foot and set the tone for the remainder of the broadcast will burn in both competitors, even if the WWE Universe's anticipation does not.

Prediction: Kalisto

If the intention is to build Kalisto into some sort of credible underdog babyface singles act, it should start with a signature victory over The Big Guy.

Should he lose the title, his legitimacy would be shot and he would likely be destined to wallow in mediocrity as half of the equally undefined Lucha Dragons tandem with Sin Cara.

Total Divas vs. Team B.A.D. & Blonde

2 of 11

The 10-Woman Tag Team match that will take place on the Kickoff Sunday night was born of the bitterness and jealousy that existed between Brie Bella and Lana. No one really knows why it existed, but it did, leading to several sneak attacks by the Ravishing Russian.

As the weeks passed, several other Divas found their way into the mix. Things escalated quickly when Emma returned to the main roster and was joined by Summer Rae, completing the team known as B.A.D. & Blonde.

Brie, coming off of the emotional retirement of husband Daniel Bryan, was flanked by friend Alicia Fox and then joined by both Paige and Natalya. But she was missing one more teammate to even the odds.

Enter Eva Marie.

The All Red Everything Diva returned to Monday Night Raw on the March 28 episode and assisted the babyface team in clearing the ring of the heels despite being one herself. She got a few shots in on Lana but her teammates did not quite greet her with the warm reception she probably would have liked.

Ahead of the clash, questions surrounding Eva's intentions abound.

Is she in it to help her fellow Total Divas castmates or does she have other motives, such as advertising herself and her brand?

We will find out Sunday night.

Prediction: Team Total Divas

While the idea of Eva Marie corrupting her team with her ego, leading to Lana scoring the win in her first match is quite appealing, this one has been set up from the beginning for Brie to win and potentially ride off into the sunset in what could be her last WrestleMania appearance.

With that said, expect the former Divas champion to pin the Ravishing Russian and celebrate, if for no other reason than to give the Total Divas producers a happy ending they can hang their hat on.

The Usos vs. the Dudley Boyz

3 of 11

The Usos vs. The Dudley Boyz may be one of the most disappointing matches on the entire WrestleMania card, if only because the build started so promisingly.

The Dudleys' heel turn was expertly done and featured the team swearing off tables, sticking it to fans who supported them all those years only because they liked seeing the most decorated team in wrestling history use the gimmickry to get over.

"No more tables!" Bubba Ray exclaimed, using the phrase to get heat in arenas across the country.

Unfortunately, the issues between them and the team they betrayed, Jimmy and Jey Uso, were so underdeveloped the program struggled to get over. Add to that a lack of television time, and you have the recipe for a one-dimensional feud between "good guys" and "bad guys" that has left fans underwhelmed.

Stepping back onto the WrestleMania stage for the first time in 12 years, Bubba and D-Von are likely to be highly motivated, determined to prove they belong back on the grand stage. And The Usos are always hyped for the opportunity to make an impact.

The match should be a fun sprint, but which team leaves victorious?

Winners: The Dudley Boyz

All signs would seem to point at the babyfaces winning this one, but with WWE tag team champions The New Day being fan favorites, the likelihood they win to set up a championship bout between two babyface teams is low.

Besides, The Dudley Boyz have been back in WWE since last August and have yet to receive that one signature victory. That drought ends Sunday with an impressive win over the popular second-generation tag team.

The New Day vs. the League of Nations

4 of 11

The issues between The New Day and The League of Nations began back at Fastlane, when the former insulted the faction during an installment of The Cutting Edge Peep Show with Edge and Christian.

Sheamus, King Barrett, Rusev and Alberto Del Rio took exception to being made fun of, and the war for tag team supremacy was on.

At Roadblock, the WWE Network special emanating from Toronto on March 12, New Day successfully retained the tag titles by knocking off Barrett and Sheamus. Just 48 hours later, the team once again beat The League, this time scoring a victory over Rusev and Del Rio.

Frustrated following the losses and infuriated over the embarrassment, the villains perpetrated a vicious and vile four-on-three beatdown that left the burgeoning babyfaces lying in a heap.

A challenge was issued for a match at WrestleMania and accepted. At one point, the tag titles were up for grabs, but since the announcement, WWE has backed off that decision. The only thing at stake is pride.

Prediction: The New Day

Kofi Kingston, Xavier Woods and Big E are only now showing flashes of just how over they can be as babyfaces, as exhibited Saturday night during the Hall of Fame induction ceremony. They are molten-hot, drawing some of the loudest reactions of anyone in the company and are a merchandise juggernaut.

Why anyone would remotely think it is a good idea to halt that kind of momentum to put over the one-dimensional League of Nations is a mystery.

Expect to see the babyfaces go over, potentially with a little assistance to help even up the sides a bit, and unleash some Big E twerking all over AT&T Stadium Sunday night.

Andre the Giant Memorial Battle Royal

5 of 11

Odds: Braun Strowman (+125), Bray Wyatt (+500), Mark Henry (+600), Randy Orton (+800), Kane (+1000), Samoa Joe (+1000), Big Show (+15000)

The above odds reflect only the key competitors who will wage war for the right to take home the Andre the Giant Memorial Battle Royal trophy Sunday night, etching their name in the history books as only the third man to earn that distinction.

The majority of the hype has been centered on Big Show, Kane and The Social Outcasts to this point, but it has never felt as though any of those men would leave victoriously. They have consistently felt like red herrings, faces to put on the build for the match but not legitimate contenders.

That is why the oddsmakers' tapping of Braun Strowman as the favorite, Bray Wyatt the second and a potentially returning Randy Orton shortly down the line is interesting. Samoa Joe even being considered is also interesting, especially on the heels of his NXT Championship match loss to Finn Balor Friday night.

With that said, anyone who has not already been announced for the match winning the the thing is strictly speculative at this point.

Prediction: The Big Show

WWE has made it clear over the last three years this match exists to pay homage to Andre the Giant and, more importantly, give Big Show something meaningful to do at WrestleMania. Last year, he won it for the first time. It would only be fitting to have him make history by being the first to win it in consecutive years.

Hardly the most exciting outcome, but it's one that makes sense.

AJ Styles vs. Chris Jericho

6 of 11

At the 2016 Royal Rumble in January, AJ Styles stunned the wrestling world by arriving in WWE. It was surreal to see the man most closely associated with TNA Wrestling setting foot in a Vince McMahon-owned ring. Though an image most never expected to see, there he was, competing for the WWE World Heavyweight Championship at that.

That night, he interacted with Chris Jericho for the first time before heading to Raw and beating the future Hall of Famer in his first singles match with the company.

That loss would drive Jericho, who made up for it a few weeks later with a victory of his own over Styles. At Fastlane in February, they seemingly settled their differences when Styles pinned Y2J in a superbly wrestled match.

But that was not the case.

Despite establishing what looked to be a solid tag team, the jealousy Jericho felt over the admiration shown to Styles, and the loss he suffered to him on pay-per-view, ate away at him. In Chicago, following a loss to New Day in a tag title bout, Jericho turned on his partner and mocked the crowd's chanting of his name.

Jericho was bitter, the old guard who could not stand the idea that the audience had chosen someone new and exciting to throw their support behind.

After weeks of costing each other matches, the competitors settled on a date at WrestleMania.

Prediction: AJ Styles

This may be the easiest match to predict on the entire show in that it exists solely to put Styles over and wrap-up the lengthy rivalry between the celebrated in-ring performers.

The only question is whether it lives up to its potential or if fans are again left slightly underwhelmed by the match that unfolds.

Ladder Match for the WWE Intercontinental Championship

7 of 11

Odds: Kevin Owens (-200), Sami Zayn (+225), Dolph Ziggler (+900), The Miz (+2000), Sin Cara (+2500), Stardust (+3300) and Zack Ryder (+3300)

The biggest match of Kevin Owens' career will also present his greatest struggle to retain the WWE Intercontinental Championship to date as he battles six other Superstars for the right to leave Arlington, Texas, with his gold around his waist.

The issues started with Sami Zayn way back at the end of 2014 in NXT. There, he brutally assaulted his former best friend because of his burning desire to win the NXT Championship, earn the money that comes with it and provide the best life imaginable for his family.

It was noble, if not misguided, but that was not the problem. The problem was that over the course of the next 16 months, he accumulated numerous enemies thanks to his bad attitude and unrivaled viciousness. Most recently, Dolph Ziggler suffered a pay-per-view loss to the resourceful and cerebral competitor. Miz has felt the brunt of his selfishness, left to endure a beating in a tag match as Owens walked out on him.

Stardust, Zack Ryder and Sin Cara were ridiculed in a Triple Threat match set up by Owens to prevent his other three rivals from having a shot at his title, meaning you have a number of Superstars looking to repay Owens for their torment.

Sunday night, they can hit the Canadian competitor where it hurts most: his pride. They will strive to not only wrest the IC title away from him but achieve their own WrestleMania moment.

Prediction: Kevin Owens

This match is tailor-made for Owens to win it. With so many other Superstars targeting his title, expect Owens to take a beating and maybe even endure a few rough bumps. But when all is said and done, the opportunistic villain will find a way to sneak up the ladder and retrieve his title in what could be a legitimate show-stealer.

Divas Championship: Becky Lynch vs. Sasha Banks vs. Charlotte

8 of 11

Odds: Sasha Banks (-300), Charlotte (+150) and Becky Lynch (+500)

History will be made Sunday night when Sasha Banks and Becky Lynch challenge Charlotte for the Divas Championship in the highest-profile women's match since Wendi Richter was accompanied by Cyndi Lauper for her battle against Leilani Kai at the inaugural WrestleMania 31 years ago.

This one is different, though. Whereas that match was treated as a sideshow of sorts, an excuse to get Lauper on the same screen as a strong female competitor for the sake of publicity, the Triple Threat match that will occur Sunday night is about revolutionizing women's wrestling and bringing it to the forefront.

Charlotte was once best friends with her opponents, one-fourth of the Horsewomen who redefined what it means to be a strong and successful female competitor in sports entertainment. But ego and the guidance of her legendary father, Ric Flair, ruined that friendship.

The Divas champion first turned on Lynch, igniting an emotional feud that would only intensify with the involvement of Banks, who returned at the Royal Rumble and made her intentions to take the Divas title away from the second-generation champion crystal clear.

In the two months that have proceeded the events of that night, the women have traded the upper hand back and forth, no one woman looking any stronger or more determined to win the showdown at WrestleMania than the other.

With anticipation at fever pitch and the chance to make history on their minds, the three competitors arrive to the biggest show of the year ready to steal the show with the eyes of the wrestling world on them.

Prediction: Sasha Banks

As much as this writer would love to see Becky Lynch win the title, something she was never able to accomplish in NXT, the equally awesome Sasha Banks has been the most hyped and celebrated of the three competitors.

With her cousin, legendary rapper (and new WWE Hall of Famer) Snoop Dogg in attendance, the makings for a special moment are there. WWE rarely passes those up.

Expect Banks to force Charlotte to tap out to the Bank Statement, paying off the feud and subjecting Charlotte to the comeuppance she so deserves.

Hell in a Cell: Shane McMahon vs. The Undertaker

9 of 11

Odds: Shane McMahon (-110), Undertaker (-130)

Shane McMahon stunned the wrestling world when he returned to WWE on the February 22 episode of Monday Night Raw.

It was during the presentation of the Vincent J. McMahon Legacy Award that the prodigal son confronted his father, Vince McMahon, accused his sister and her husband, Stephanie McMahon and Triple H respectively, of running the business into the ground and revealed his desire to run Monday Night Raw.

That was fine, Vince said, but only if his ungrateful son would compete at WrestleMania.

Against The Undertaker.

Inside Hell in a Cell.

From that moment on, the future of WWE has been wagered on a match between a 46 year-old businessman who has not competed in a WWE ring since 2009 and a 51-year-old veteran whose best days are far behind him. Yet there is an anticipation surrounding the match that is palpable.

Shane has crafted a reputation for himself by taking tremendous risks in high-profile matches, recognizing the gravity of the moment. Conversely, Undertaker always pulls his finest performances out at The Showcase of the Immortals, the greatest Superstar in event history.

After the March 28 episode of Raw saw McMahon dive from the top rope, driving an elbow through Undertaker and crashing through the announce table, fans are left wondering what he will do when the lights are brightest and the world is watching on the WWE Network.

Prediction: Shane McMahon

Usually, choosing Undertaker here would be a no-brainer. Given the way this one has been built, though, that option makes no sense.

Shane has gone on record more than once, criticizing the state of Raw and the quality of the show. He has all but flatly said the show sucks. What does it say to the audience to have someone such as Shane promise to make it good again, then come back and lose, just to see the show revert back to the total sucktitude that plagued it earlier?

That is not encouraging and would send the wrong message at a time when WWE needs desperately to provide fans with a glimmer of hope.

No Holds Barred Street Fight: Dean Ambrose vs. Brock Lesnar

10 of 11

Odds: Dean Ambrose (-110), Brock Lesnar (-150)

There is no match on the WrestleMania card more prone to violence, chaos and uncertainty than the No Holds Barred Street Fight between Dean Ambrose and Brock Lesnar.

Unfazed by the beating he endured at the hands of The Beast Incarnate leading into Fastlane and at the February pay-per-view, Ambrose called him out in the wake of the show. When he was not busy poking and angering Lesnar, The Lunatic Fringe was challenging Triple H for the WWE World Heavyweight Championship, becoming the most buzzed-about star on the roster on the Road to WrestleMania.

Despite losing that match, Ambrose has continued to target Lesnar, even accepting gifts from hardcore legends Mick Foley (barbed-wire baseball bat) and Terry Funk (chainsaw). With the greatest opportunity to cement his status as one of the elite stars in WWE before him, Ambrose arrives at the biggest show of the year for what has the potential to be the most brutal match in the long and illustrious history of the event.

Prediction: Dean Ambrose

The only man to defeat Brock Lesnar in the last three years has been The Undertaker, demonstrating the invincibility of the former WWE and UFC heavyweight champion over that time frame. While he is a smart pick, one cannot help but retrace the story arc of the Ambrose character and realize how much he is set up to win the biggest match of his career and firmly entrench himself at the top of the card.

More than a Lesnar story, this has been an Ambrose story. The Lunatic Fringe has fallen just short of winning the WWE World Heavyweight Championship twice in the last three months, yet he never quits and never gets down. He is as popular as he has ever been, and his contest Sunday night is one of the hottest on the entire card.

It is time to strike while the proverbial iron is hot, beginning with a win over Lesnar.

Potential interference from The Wyatt Family, whose issues with both Ambrose and Lesnar have been at the forefront of Raw and SmackDown, bears considering.

WWE Championship: Roman Reigns vs. Triple H

11 of 11

Odds: Roman Reigns (-500), Triple H (+300)

The most controversial main event in WrestleMania history will occur Sunday night, as the much-maligned Roman Reigns enters his second consecutive marquee WWE World Heavyweight Championship match at The Showcase of the Immortals, this time challenging Triple H for the top prize in the sport.

At Survivor Series last November, Reigns won the gold following a tournament for the title, defeating best friend Dean Ambrose in the final. His failure to embrace The Authority, to join Triple H and Stephanie McMahon as their hand-picked champion, earned him the wrath of the power couple.

On that night, just minutes after winning the title that had eluded him for so long, Reigns lost the belt following a Brogue Kick from Sheamus, who successfully cashed in the Money in the Bank briefcase. One month later, at TLC: Tables, Ladders & Chairs, Reigns again lost a championship match, courtesy of interference by The League of Nations.

Incensed, he attacked all four competitors, then unmercilessly beat Triple H in a moment that convinced the masses to finally cheer for him.

Just 24 hours later, he defeated Sheamus to regain the title, earning the praise of the fans in Philadelphia.

However, his reign would again be short-lived, as he lost the gold in the Royal Rumble after being eliminated by the returning Triple H.

The attack perpetrated by Reigns awakened The King of Kings, igniting his competitive fire. The Game would brutally assault Reigns, plastering his nose all over his face and necessitating surgery. Then, at Roadblock, The Cerebral Assassin proved his greatness by defeating Ambrose in a superb wrestling match.

But his celebration would be cut short. One night later, Triple H found himself on the receiving end of a beatdown at the hands of the returning Reigns. Since then, he has been running, looking to avoid the assault of his top contender.

Sunday night, there will be no retreat.

Prediction: Roman Reigns

WWE has stubbornly built to this match, on this night, for months. Fan rejection of Reigns be damned.

Barring some sort of monumental change in booking philosophy or an unforeseen heel turn, Reigns will spear his way through Triple H and stand tall with the WWE World Heavyweight Championship high in the air.

And The Roman Empire will rule over sports entertainment.
