Real Madrid Transfer News: James Rodriguez, Xabi Alonso Contract Leaks Alleged

Christopher SimpsonFeb 15, 2016

Football Leaks have reportedly shared the alleged details of James Rodriguez's contract with Real Madrid and Xabi Alonso's move from Los Blancos to Bayern Munich.

According to Matt Heath-Smith of the Sun, the website revealed the Colombian's six-year deal with Real is worth a staggering £35.4 million—with £5.4 million being paid in the first year and the remaining £30 million split evenly over the final five years.

Further, they report he has a buyout clause of £387 million and he receives his wages twice yearly, on January 10 each year and the same day in July. AS English relayed a photo of Rodriguez's alleged contract:

The 24-year-old has had problems with injury this season, and Spanish football commentator Eduardo Alvarez believes he still isn't fully fit:

Nevertheless, the playmaker has scored five goals and assisted eight in 17 appearances this season, which is even more impressive when up against the fact he has only completed 90 minutes four times in this campaign.

Per WhoScored.com, Rodriguez has shown his qualities in Real's last two outings:

His ability to keep making incisive contributions despite question marks over his form and fitness is a testament to exceptional talent.

If the details in his alleged contract are true, Madridistas can look forward to keeping Rodriguez at the Santiago Bernabeu for some time to come, as very few teams would be willing and capable of matching his buyout clause or wage demands.

Per Sport English, Football Leaks and German outlet Der Spiegel also shared the previously undisclosed details of Alonso's switch to Bayern Munich.

According to the report, Bayern paid Real 7.5 million in two instalments of €4 and €3.5 million, as well as a further €1.5 million when the Spaniard made 30 appearances for the Bundesliga side—something he did in his first season at the club.

The agreement also dictated the two clubs would play a friendly ahead of the 2017-18 season.

Alonso has rapidly become a key player in Pep Guardiola's midfield and has continued to produce moments of magic such as this effort against Darmstadt in December, per BT Sport's Archie Rhind-Tutt:

Such fees involved for a player then approaching 33 years old would normally be something of a surprise, but Alonso's performances have scarcely declined with age, so it has proved excellent business for both sides.
