WWE NXT Results: Biggest Winners, Losers and Moments from February 3
Another high-profile loss has Apollo Crews reeling, making him the biggest loser from Wednesday's episode of NXT on WWE Network.
The defeat at the hands of NXT champion Finn Balor in non-title competition essentially eliminated Crews from contention and leaves the breakout star without anything to do going forward.
Sure, he will rebound, especially considering how much effort management has put into presenting him as one of the elite young stars on the roster. With Balor busy facing challenges from Sami Zayn, Samoa Joe and Baron Corbin, though, the future is uncertain for Crews.

Modern-Day Dream Matches 💭

Most Likely Backlash Heel/Face Turns 🎭
It is strange to see someone who was previously on such a roll drop two significant matches as Crews has. Balor and Corbin may be elite wrestlers for NXT, but in order to prevent the audience from considering the dynamic young competitor a choke artist, management and NXT Creative will have to tread lightly while booking him in the future.
Not everyone had the disappointing night that Crews did, though.
The No. 1 contender to the NXT Women's Championship scored an ever-important victory, and her boys—wrestling's most popular tag team—enjoyed further development of their more aggressive side.

Winners: Enzo Amore and Colin Cassady
The Certified G and Big Cass wasted little time overwhelming and dispatching their unnamed opponents on this week's show, and in the process, they sent a loud and clear message to NXT tag team champions Dash and Dawson as well as any other tag team that stands between them and gold.
They were more aggressive than fans have seen them to this point, and their intensity—both on the mic and in the ring—was a welcome addition to the team's act.
Everyone loves a wildly entertaining, incredibly humorous duo, but at some point, it has to evolve and grow into a more complete package.
The NXT audience is finally seeing that evolution with every passing week, as two young stars are growing into a team ready to not only capture the tag titles in NXT but—in the very near future—make the jump to the main roster and chase the WWE's version of the championships currently held by The New Day.

Loser: Emma
After turning in an extraordinary performance against Asuka in London, it felt like Emma had momentum on her side and would potentially earn a shot to wrest the women's title from Bayley.
Then she lost the No. 1 Contender's Battle Royal to start the year, and on this week's broadcast, she suffered an upset loss to Carmella. It was a major setback for the Australian-born Diva, who has unfortunately endured far too many of them in her young WWE career to this point.
She was clearly the better wrestler on Wednesday night, though that was of no real surprise to anyone who has ever watched her compete.
As was the case on Raw and SmackDown, though, she can never seem to win over management long enough to enjoy a sustained push—no matter how many times she proves herself.
A talented wrestler who has thrived as a heel far more than she ever did as the goofy babyface, Emma deserves the right to steal the show with Bayley, wowing audiences with the latest chapter of the Divas Revolution.
Instead, she will be forced to spend the next few months as the more active BFF of Dana Brooke, who is clearly positioned as the real star of the duo.

Winner: Carmella
The above defense of Emma does not mean that Carmella somehow does not deserve the opportunity that awaits her as she prepares to do battle with Bayley over the NXT Women's Championship.
A former fitness star, she has made a successful transition to the ring. More importantly, she weathered the storm of intensely negative reactions and has come out of it smelling like roses, as she is one of the most popular women on the NXT roster.
The strides she has made between the ropes are indisputable and have earned her the respect of the audience, which is of the utmost importance when dealing with the smart, diehard fans that NXT draws.
Carmella's victory over Emma continued her hot streak and, more importantly, lent her credibility ahead of her match with Bayley.
While the Aussie loses more than she wins, the level of competitor that she is has not been lost on the audience. It still means something to beat her, especially for a still relatively inexperienced Carmella.
No one really expects Carmella to beat Bayley and take the NXT Women's Championship away from her, but a strong performance in that match could give her enough momentum to propel her to the top of the division and leave her as the likeliest Diva to carry the division once her best friend makes the leap to Raw and SmackDown.

Winner: Finn Balor
The current NXT champion is a rarity in today's pro wrestling landscape in that his character is that of a champion.
He is not an Authority stooge, a Beast Incarnate, a Wyatt Family cult leader or a Lunatic Fringe. His status as the world champion of the hottest brand has engulfed him, superseding anything else Creative has attempted to do with him.
On Wednesday night, he once again proved himself the elite of the elite, scoring a non-title win over Apollo Crews.
Typically, bouts in which championships are not at stake are used as plot devices to create a new top contender to the gold. In this instance, though, it was another opportunity to demonstrate to fans just how phenomenal a champion Balor is.
He was not obligated to take the match, to grant Crews the chance to prove that he could beat The Demon. But Balor did, and he thwarted the challenge of his immensely talented peer.
It is that sort of booking that has helped make Balor arguably the best champion in sports entertainment right now.
With Sami Zayn, Samoa Joe and Baron Corbin all chasing him and his title, the leader of the Balor Club will have to continue fighting and putting opponents down if he wishes to retain both his title and—at this point in his career—his identity.
