Real Madrid Transfer News: Latest on Robert Lewandowski, Pep Guardiola Rumours
Pep Guardiola is reportedly ready to go to war with Real Madrid this summer as he looks to bring Bayern Munich striker Robert Lewandowski to the Etihad Stadium after being confirmed as the next Manchester City boss.
It was announced on Monday that Guardiola will take over at the City helm this summer, and Antony Kastrinakis of the Sun reported he'll battle with Real to sign Lewandowski in a £75 million deal.

For now, the Poland striker remains committed to the Bayern cause, and although Guardiola has "vowed not to raid" the Allianz Arena once he leaves, he'll move for Lewandowski if Los Blancos bid for his services.
The 27-year-old has 27 goals to his name in 28 appearances this season and is on course to eclipse his career-best total of 36 goals netted during the 2012-13 campaign, when he was at Borussia Dortmund.
Manchester City already have a talismanic forward of their own in the shape of Sergio Aguero, but it seems Guardiola wants to add another world-class force to his attacking setup at the Etihad.
Bleacher Report's Dean Jones recently explained that Real had new hope of launching a move for Lewandowski after seeing their transfer ban suspended following an appeal:
Kastrinakis claimed in his report that Lewandowski already told Polish television he hopes to leave Bayern for Real in future, but City will be hoping to turn his head in their direction over the coming months.
Guardiola's impending arrival at the English giants will surely only help City's cause, too, considering Lewandowski has enjoyed his most prolific football under the former Barcelona chief.
The forward recently spoke to the Mail on Sunday's Rob Draper and hailed the managerial ability of his Bayern boss, saying Guardiola has been able to get the best out of him as a player:
"That was in my mind but I knew I could help Pep and the team. Of course, I had to learn a few things in the first couple of months but Pep was able to see he could get the best out of me to help the team.
I can say I’m a better player [since working with him] and you can learn something new in every training session and that’s what I imagined when I moved from Borussia Dortmund. I knew I could become a better player here at Bayern.
Pep thinks about football 24 hours a day. ... He covers every angle to the smallest detail and he always demands 100 per cent in training and in games.
"
City currently have Wilfried Bony and Nigerian youngster Kelechi Iheanacho as back-up to Aguero, but cover has looked slightly short during any injury absences the Argentinian ace has endured.
Squawka Dave recently detailed just what an impeccable attack Lewandowski has helped construct at the Allianz Arena, with Der FCB on track to claiming a fourth consecutive Bundesliga title:
Kastrinakis added that Ligue 1 titans Paris Saint-Germain are also on the prowl to sign Lewandowski, but the striker would "prefer a switch to Spain or England," which certainly helps City's case leading into this summer.
The English powerhouse may be able to contend with Los Merengues on a spending level, but Guardiola's arrival means City may now also boast the magnetism they've been seeking for so long.
