Jack Wilshere Contract: Latest News and Rumours on Talks with Arsenal
Jack Wilshere will be handed a new contract by Arsenal worth £110,000 per week, according to Wayne Veysey of Football Insider.
The England international midfielder is reportedly "close to agreeing" to the new deal.
Veysey claims the contract on offer is intended to keep Wilshere at Arsenal until 2021. It would be a major statement of confidence in a player who, while gifted, has had a nightmare trying to avoid injury.

But Veysey states those fitness woes haven't dampened the faith of Gunners manager Arsene Wenger in Wilshere's potential:
"Manager Arsene Wenger retains full faith in the Gunners talisman despite some off-field controversies and the series of serious injuries that have stalled his progress since his breakthrough 2010-11 campaign.
Wilshere will be sidelined until at least mid-December as he continues his recovery from the fractured left fibula that has kept him out for the entire season.
"
Still, despite Wenger's belief in his young playmaker, the idea of giving a hefty pay bump to a player who rarely sees the pitch is likely to irk some.

For instance, Arsenal's injury-hit squad could currently use Wilshere, but his latest lengthy spell out has stretched already depleted midfield ranks to breaking point.
Aaron Ramsey and Mathieu Flamini are currently the last men standing in the middle, while Wilshere and a host of others languish in the treatment room. He's joined by Mikel Arteta, Tomas Rosicky, Francis Coquelin and Santi Cazorla.
Still, Wilshere is taking things very slowly. Last month, he told Fox Soccer (h/t Metro's Tom Olver) he's wary of a setback. It's a further sign of just how brittle the 23-year-old schemer has become.
Yet, Wenger is still apparently keen to bring Wilshere's wages closer to top earners Mesut Ozil and Alexis Sanchez and on a par with Ramsey and Theo Walcott. But Wilshere hasn't contributed anywhere near as much on the field as that quartet.
He was a target for Premier League rivals Manchester City in the summer, according to Sky Sports News HQ reporter James Cooper (h/t SkySports.com).
While his potential is obvious, Wilshere has never found a definite position to make his own. But his ongoing fragility still hasn't convinced Wenger to cash in.
