
Noel Mazzone Hospitalized: Latest on UCLA OC's Status and Recovery

UCLA confirmed Mazzone was back after a two-day absence, per Joey Kaufman of the Orange County Register.
UCLA Releases Statement on Mazzone's Condition

According to Bruin Report Online (h/t Zach Helfand of the Los Angeles Times), a UCLA spokesperson offered a positive outlook regarding Mazzone's condition: "Coach Mazzone is resting comfortably, in good spirits and looking forward to getting back with the team as soon as possible."
Mazzone Has Been an Asset for Bruins Offense
Mazzone has been a coach since 1980 on the heels of a four-year playing career at the University of New Mexico as a quarterback. He has made several stops along the way, including offensive coordinator stints at Ole Miss, Auburn, Oregon State, N.C. State and Arizona State.
He was also the New York Jets' wide receivers coach from 2006 to 2008.
The Mount Vernon, Washington, native has been in charge of UCLA's offense since 2012. During that timespan, the Bruins have compiled a record of 37-15.
UCLA is 8-4 this season and averaging 32.5 points per game, which is actually the lowest offensive output during Mazzone's tenure.
The Bruins are scheduled to take on Nebraska in the Foster Farms Bowl on Dec. 26.
