Scott Expected to Play in CFP Semis
Wednesday, Dec. 16
Scott Keepfer of GreenvilleOnline.com noted Clemson head coach Dabo Swinney revealed Scott has been dealing with discomfort in his knee for the better part of the past month: "He'd been playing with that, and done well, obviously. They decided to go ahead and clean it up while he had time. He'll be limited (in practice) for a few days, but should be ready to roll full speed after that."
As seen in this video, courtesy of the Independent Mail's Dan Hope, Scott was already taking part in the rehab process Monday by running on his own:
Heisman Trophy finalist and starting quarterback Deshaun Watson receives much of the credit for Clemson's offensive success, but Scott's importance cannot be understated, as he has more than double the catches of anyone else on the team.
He is the ultimate safety valve and third-down option for Watson, which is why it's so integral for the Tigers to have him back by New Year's Eve.
Clemson will be forced to rely more heavily on receivers Deon Cain and Charone Peake, as well as tight end Jordan Leggett if they are any complications with Scott's recovery, but every indication is that he'll be healthy and in the starting lineup against the Sooners.
