McCarron's Keeps Bengals from Turning to Wenning
McCarron was a fifth-round pick in 2014, but he was making just his second career start for the injured Andy Dalton, who fractured his thumb.
He won his first start in Week 15 against the San Francisco 49ers, completing 15 of his 21 passes for 192 yards, a touchdown and no interceptions.
He threw another touchdown without an interception against Denver, but he led his team to just three points in the second half of the 20-17 loss after jumping out to a 14-0 lead.
Dalton's status is still up in the air. If McCarron misses time going forward, the Bengals could turn to third-stringer Keith Wenning, who has yet to attempt an NFL pass.
