WWE TLC 2015: Predictions for Event's Biggest Stars

Aaron BowerDec 9, 2015

Even though the likes of John Cena, Seth Rollins and Randy Orton are all absent from WWE at the moment, there's still a few big names present for this Sunday's Tables, Ladders & Chairs pay-per-view.

The headline bout is Roman Reigns vs. Sheamus for the WWE World Heavyweight Championship, and both of those guys will have to be on form to fire up what looks like a pretty lame world title picture right now.

Elsewhere, top stars like The New Day, Dean Ambrose and Kevin Owens are all in action.

But what lies in store for the event's biggest names? Let's take a look with some early predictions for TLC.

Dean Ambrose and Kevin Owens

1 of 4

One of the most intriguing matches of the entire night features Dean Ambrose squaring off with Kevin Owens.

There is a title on the line, but these two stars of the squared circle normally wouldn't even need that motivation to pull off a thrilling encounter.

But who will win?

Given how Ambrose and Owens seem to have nothing other than this rivalry right now, expect the champion to retain and move into 2016 with this feud well and truly still alive.

KO has been in desperate need of a feud with a legitimate top star. Ambrose too has been on the hunt for something to satisfy his need for a high-level rivalry, so this should suit both guys well.

It might be a controversial win for Owens, but it will be one that enables this rivalry to be played out at further shows, perhaps even within the Royal Rumble match itself next month.

Alberto Del Rio

2 of 4

Fans were treated to a very different side to Alberto Del Rio in his relationship with Zeb Colter this past Monday on Raw.

Del Rio snapped on his manager, seemingly causing a split between the two that at least pumps some intrigue into the Mexican's match with Jack Swagger this Sunday.

Up until now, there's been little to get excited about when it comes to this United States Championship bout.

But with Colter now potentially either set to reunite with Swagger or fool us all by aligning with Del Rio to help him win yet again, there's at least something worth watching here.

And out of those two options, it seems more likely that Colter will stick by Del Rio's side and help him retain. It would be a major shock for Swagger to claim the gold, although it would free the belt up and allow Del Rio to continue with his commitments to The League of Nations.

Bray Wyatt

3 of 4

It seems that Bray Wyatt's foes change with each and every pay-per-view these days.

As soon as he had finished losing to The Brothers of Destruction, Wyatt was thrust into a new feud, this time an eight-man rivalry with his entire family taking on some of ECW's greatest.

The Dudley Boyz vs. The Wyatt Family never quite seemed right when it was initially laid out a few weeks ago, but with the inclusion of Tommy Dreamer and Rhyno to make it four against four, we've got the makings of a match that could be something altogether spectacular.

The fact we've got a Tables match as the stipulation for this bout will also make fans excited, as it is Bubba Ray and D-Von's specialty, of course.

But when it comes to predicting Bray's fate this Sunday, he's surely well overdue for a major victory on a pay-per-view. Having four veterans go over on four young talents at this stage doesn't quite feel right, and with the Royal Rumble just around the corner, Bray needs momentum to enter that match with a spring in his step.

Expect him to win, and win well.

Roman Reigns and Sheamus

4 of 4

Roman Reigns will again step into the path of The Authority this Sunday, as he aims to down Sheamus and win the WWE World Heavyweight Championship once more.

But don't expect it to happen.

Reigns' chances of getting revenge on Sheamus so early in their rivalry seem slim, as it would leave the feud with nowhere to go ahead of such a pivotal time of the year in WWE's calendar.

What's more likely is that Reigns will be beaten unfairly, perhaps by a numerical disadvantage due to The League of Nations' involvement.

The Authority itself may even play an active role in stopping Reigns from winning the title, meaning his quest for redemption will roll into the beginning of next year and the Royal Rumble pay-per-view.

This will be another classic case of Reigns' getting so close but ultimately being so far away from what he desires.
