WWE Rumors: Examining Latest Buzz Around Brock Lesnar, Tommy Dreamer and More
Brock Lesnar's and Tommy Dreamer's statuses with the company are at the center of a pair of the latest WWE rumors.
Lesnar has been in hibernation since Hell in a Cell. A recent report pointed to that ending before long, with The Beast Incarnate set to go on the prowl again.
As for Dreamer, he reportedly signed a unique deal. He's not exclusive to WWE, despite being in the thick of a feud between The Dudley Boyz and The Wyatt Family.

Fresh Backstage WWE Rumors 👊

Modern-Day Dream Matches 💭

Most Likely Backlash Heel/Face Turns 🎭
Other Internet rumblings shed light on possible shifts in how WWE Creative approaches Raw, Mick Foley's son working for the company and what happened to Stardust after Monday's show. Which of these stories deserve to be dismissed and which hold weight? Let's dive into another round of WWE rumors to answer that.
Creative Changes?
With Raw's ratings struggling so greatly and the show lacking energy for so long, fans keep waiting for Vince McMahon to initiate a major shakeup with the show.
It's possible that's exactly what's on the way. On Wrestling Observer Radio (h/t Wrestling Inc), Dave Meltzer said that fans may see significant changes in Raw's creative direction.
This report came out before Monday's Raw. Aside from an unexpected four-team collision to open the show and Dolph Ziggler vs. Kevin Owens getting a significant chunk of ring time, those reported changes weren't apparent.
WWE trotted out the same tired storytelling.
Roman Reigns recapped his feud with Sheamus. Enemies sat in on commentary as their rivals wrestled. The heel-face dynamics in the women's division remain wildly inconsistent.
Perhaps these supposed changes are something that will arrive over time, something to expect in the long-term. Until they actually appear on screen, however, it's going to be hard to buy this rumor. McMahon hasn't shown a willingness to shift gears since WCW's success forced him to during the Monday Night War.
Backstage Word on Mick Foley's Son Working for WWE
Dewey Foley is now a member of the WWE writing team tasked with reversing the product's downward trend. One report, though, pointed to him having a minor role for the moment.
F4WOnlne.com's Bryan Alvarez (h/t Wrestle Zone) reported that Dewey's position is not full time as of now, and how long he sticks around will depend on his performance. One of his duties is reportedly to take the scripts to talents and tell them what they will be doing on the show.
Meltzer tweeted that Dewey will be a writer's assistant:
This makes a ton of sense. As smart and creative as Dewey may be, he's not experienced in booking wrestling shows. Putting him in an entry-level position is only logical.
However, if his father gets a gig, he needs to be in a spot where he can make real changes.
Stardust Injury Scare
After a short bout against Jack Swagger, Stardust reportedly underwent medical testing. Mike Johnson wrote for PWInsider.com, "Stardust went to the hospital last night after Raw to be checked out for a potential fracture following his bout against Jack Swagger but all tests were negative."
Even as low as Stardust is on the totem pole, WWE had to be holding its breath.
The roster has been rocked by injuries. One more performer going down would have further limited WWE's booking options.
No report of a possible injury is surprising. Stardust and his peers engage in a dangerous, grueling enterprise.
Thankfully, there was no fracture. The Prince of Dark Matter can now return to languishing at the bottom of the card.
Tommy Dreamer Update
It looks as if Dreamer is doing during his latest WWE run what Rhyno has done with NXT. He's experiencing the best of both worlds, bringing in WWE money and having independent-circuit freedom.
Meltzer noted on F4WOnline, "Even though Tommy Dreamer is getting a main roster run right now, he is a free agent and will be still doing his indie shows."
WWE doesn't need to lean on Dreamer, having him appear at every show. It makes sense for the company to draw up this unique contract in order to get him aboard for this storyline with The Wyatt Family.
Flexibility like that is unexpected from WWE, but it's a wise move. Dreamer's only needed in spots. Why force him to back out of his other obligations if the company can work around them?
Brock Lesnar's Return Looming
He isn't the cure-all to WWE's ills, but having Lesnar back is certainly going to boost programming. And that boost is reportedly on its way.
According to F4WOnline (h/t Wrestling Inc), Lesnar is expected to be on TV a lot more in the coming weeks, and he is booked for the Royal Rumble.

Lesnar is booked for a pair of house shows over the next two months, but it wasn't clear whether he would also come back for TV around that time.
To hear that he's returning soon with the Road to WrestleMania set to kick off and the roster thinned by injuries to Cesaro, Seth Rollins, Randy Orton and others is far from surprising. Count this as among the most believable rumors ever to grace a wrestling outlet.
WWE needs Lesnar. It needs star power to kick the product into gear. There's no reason to believe the company would hold out on doing that after TLC is over, when the hype-building process for WrestleMania is poised to begin.
