WWE TLC 2015: Power Ranking Bouts Most Likely to Steal the Show
With six matches scheduled for the upcoming WWE Tables, Ladders & Chairs pay-per-view, the show offers a mixture of both intriguing bouts and matches that are likely to become somewhat forgettable.
Multiple titles will be defended at the show, but that doesn't necessarily mean there's a great sense of hype and anticipation for some of them.
Does the WWE World Heavyweight Championship bout between Sheamus and Roman Reigns offer fans something to look forward to?
And where else are the best matches likely to be found this weekend?
Let's take a look at power ranking all six matches, from worst to best, in terms of the matches that everyone will be talking about after Sunday's show.
6. Alberto Del Rio vs. Jack Swagger
1 of 6We start with a match that although features two pretty decent midcard stars, offers little hope in terms of being one of the standout matches of the entire night.
Jack Swagger's re-introduction to TV followed by him suddenly being thrown into a rivalry with Alberto Del Rio does have some storyline development to it, but it hasn't been used well enough.
Del Rio has been working alongside Sheamus in the League of Nations, which means this feud has had to stay in the background on occasions.
Given what happened on Monday's Raw with Del Rio turning his back on Zeb Colter, it will be interesting to see if Colter has an impact on the outcome of the match.
But it seems a fairly predictable outcome, and a match that won't have too much about it, unfortunately. Expect Del Rio to retain.
5. Sheamus vs. Roman Reigns
2 of 6
Such is the booking of the WWE World Heavyweight Championship scene, this match finds itself ranked fifth out of six when it comes to bouts that could potentially steal the show.
It may seem a tad harsh to say this, but does anyone really care about what's going on with the world title at the moment?
The confusing and predictably lazy finish at Survivor Series is still leaving a sour taste in the mouth of WWE fans, so there's bound to be little intrigue about the contest itself.
The two men involved are decent workers inside the ring, but Sheamus' sudden push up to the position of world champion has caught fans by surprise.
It will take a while for this feud to get up and running, in truth, and it will surely roll on beyond TLC.
Sadly, the world championship match at a major pay-per-view carries little appeal, and therefore it won't be one fans will remember in a hurry.
4. Charlotte vs. Paige
3 of 6Moving on into the top four now, and the Divas Championship match between Charlotte and Paige.
Ordinarily, this bout would have been lower down on the list, but some surprising developments in the last couple of weeks leave this match handily placed to be a real eye-catcher.
Are we witnessing a double turn in the run-up to TLC between these two? Charlotte's controversial win over Becky Lynch last week set the tone for what followed on Raw this week, with Charlotte again acting as the heel in the rivalry.
Paige came out to a pretty decent pop, and it looks like she's turning babyface again, although things may not become clear in terms of character definition until the night itself.
The matches Paige and Charlotte have had have all been decent enough, and this could be a pretty defining night for the whole Divas division.
If it's as good as it should be, the whole division can move forward with a spring in its step. Should Paige turn babyface and get the job done, expect Sasha Banks to step forward and answer the call.
3. The New Day vs. The Usos vs. The Lucha Dragons
4 of 6Given how we've got a Triple Threat match for the tag titles this Sunday at TLC, it's a shame this match didn't take on the whole Tables, Ladders & Chairs concept.
As it is, The New Day will defend their titles with only ladders involved, but it still promises to be an intriguing match for more reasons than one.
First of all, the prospect of the likes of The Usos and Kofi Kingston, as well as The Lucha Dragons, with ladders in a match is fascinating.
Expect plenty of entertainment in that regard, and this is one of the few title matches of the night where the outcome is quite tough to predict.
Is it time for new tag champions? Or will The New Day continue on as the company's best heel stable beyond TLC?
We've got unpredictability, high-flying entertainment and a great stipulation. This match deservedly sits in the top three.
2. The ECW Originals vs. the Wyatt Family
5 of 6
Any match involving The Wyatt Family always has the potential to steal the show, right?
Unlike at Survivor Series, where two members of Bray's family had to sit on the sidelines and watch on, this time we'll get a proper four-on-four match.
That means the whole family will take part, so the unique mixture of in-ring style that Bray's clan collectively provide will be on show. That can only be a good thing.
And as well as that, we're going to get a taste of extremity and a real throwback on Sunday night. The Dudley Boyz have been sound additions to the roster since returning a few months ago, but this weekend, they've got company.
This elimination match involving Bubba Ray, D-Von, Tommy Dreamer and Rhyno features the preferred companion of The Dudley Boyz, too: tables.
It should be a lengthy match, and one that fans won't be able to take their eyes off. It'll be brutal, and it'll be unmissable.
This has all the makings of being the standout match of the night.
1. Dean Ambrose vs. Kevin Owens
6 of 6
There may not be a traditional TLC stipulation involved, but that doesn't stop this match from having the most potential of the whole show.
It's two former indie stars clashing, and it's two guys who fans would love to see in the world-title mix on a regular basis.
Dean Ambrose vs. Kevin Owens hasn't had too much time to grow as a feud, but back these two stars of the company to make up for any shortcoming in promotional work on Sunday night.
It'll be fast, and it'll be non-stop. Expect Ambrose to bring his very best to the match, as he so often does when facing in-ring magicians like Owens.
Fans would have loved to have seen these two guys clash in NXT, but their time in the development brand just didn't overlap.
This has the potential to be WWE's hottest feud of the next few months. It all starts this Sunday, and it'll be unmissable.
