Manchester United Transfer News: Red Devils Target £200M Raid, Latest Rumours
Manchester United coach Louis van Gaal will be handed £200 million to spend on transfers in the summer, as the owners of the Red Devils reinforce their belief in the Dutchman, despite the expected availability of current Bayern Munich manager Pep Guardiola next year.
Ken Lawrence of the Sun proclaimed the Glazer family "would happily snub" Guardiola, even if he departs Bayern Munich at the end of the campaign, and will hand LvG the cash he needs to make United champions.
Lawrence said: "The United hierarchy are convinced Guardiola will quit Bayern Munich at the end of this season. But they have no plans to move for the former Barcelona manager—despite reports that he is keen on coaching the Red Devils."

Lawrence also added Van Gaal may extend his current deal with the club, which is due to end in 2017, if he has significant success on the pitch.
Boos rang out around Old Trafford on Saturday as the three-time champions of Europe registered a fifth goalless draw in their last nine in all competitions, according to WhoScored.com.
The football has been slow and turgid at times from Van Gaal's team, and fans are starting to lose patience with his methods.
However, the custodians of the football club have not lost faith in the eccentric Dutchman, and they will hunt the likes of Cristiano Ronaldo, Neymar and Gareth Bale for the coach, as well as Bayern pair Thomas Muller and Robert Lewandowski, per Lawrence.

David Anderson of the Mirror said Ronaldo has been advised to rejoin United by his mother, Dolores Aveiro, if he opts to leave Real Madrid in the summer. Anderson explained Aveiro's thinking behind the potential switch back to Old Trafford instead of a transfer to Paris Saint-Germain:
"Paris Saint-Germain are also chasing Ronaldo and are prepared to pay him a staggering £250,000 a week after tax to make him Zlatan Ibrahimovic’s successor.
But Aveiro would prefer a move back to Manchester because she feels it would be safer for her son and five-year-old grandson, Cristiano Junior.
"
The reported faith in Van Gaal will displease a section of United fans who would love to see Guardiola arrive at the Theatre of Dreams.
Further reports suggest the United squad are losing belief in the manager, but Van Gaal recently said the rumours were not true, and he would leave the club if this happened, per Allan Valente on Sky Sports:
"The most important thing is the chemistry between players and staff. And when I have the feeling that the chemistry is there, I will always work to my utmost best.
But when I have a single feeling that it is not like that, I'm the first coach that quits and I have proved that already with my former clubs and former jobs.
"

Despite the suggested unrest at the club, United sit in a healthy position in the Premier League: three points from the top and level with Manchester City—separated only by goal difference.
United are desperate to revamp their attack, and they showed against West Ham United on Saturday they have an issue when the ball is in the box. There is a lack of predatory sharpness from the attack, and the addition of Ronaldo would give the club a cold-blooded goalscorer.
If the Red Devils can purchase a No. 9 in the summer, they will be well placed to advance their standing in the league and further compete in Europe.
However, if they can find a striker who is available in January, there is every chance they could recapture their Premier League crown this term as others falter around them.
