College Football Scores 2015: Week 14 Results, Twitter Reaction and Highlights
The Alabama Crimson Tide used their powerful defense and versatile offense to roll past Florida 29-15 and win the SEC championship.
Alabama is expected to be named as one of the four semifinalists in the College Football Playoff. Those teams will be named Sunday, and the semifinals will be played Dec. 31 at the Orange Bowl and Cotton Bowl.
Quarterback Jake Coker directed the Alabama offense, and he threw for 204 yards and two touchdown passes. Running back Derrick Henry dominated with his ability to break through the first wave of tacklers. He gained 189 yards and scored one touchdown.
The Alabama special teams set the tone early in the first quarter when Keith Holcombe broke through on a Florida punt and blocked the ball through the endzone for a safety.
"Alabama was all over that punt. About 3 guys could have blocked it. Alabama up 2-0.

Florida took the lead in the second quarter on Antonio Callaway's 85-yard punt return for a touchdown.

Alabama's defense was nearly impenetrable in the third quarter, and that's when the Crimson Tide took over the game.
"Florida has gone 15 minutes of game time without a first down. Alabama with 150-plus yards in third quarter; Florida has 3.

Stars of the Week
RB Derrick Henry, Alabama
It's usually fairly easy for Derrick Henry to assert himself. Once he gets five carries or more, his power, strength and explosiveness make him very difficult for opposing defenses to contain.
Henry did not have his usual game against Florida's athletic and well-prepared defense. The Gators kept Henry in check throughout much of the first half, but head coach Nick Saban kept calling his number.
The 242-pound power back eventually made his point, as he rushed for 189 yards on 44 carries. Henry also pounded the ball into the end zone once.
Henry has rushed for 1,986 yards this season, and he broke the all-time SEC rushing record, previously set by Herschel Walker in 1981.

QB Greg Ward Jr., Houston
The Houston Cougars earned the American Athletic Conference championship with their 24-13 victory over a game Temple Owls team, and they have quarterback Greg Ward to thank for the victory.
Ward completed 11-of-21 passes for 88 yards, but it was his running that gave the Cougars the impetus to win the game.
He carried the ball 17 times for 148 yards and two touchdowns, and his slashing style hurt the Owls badly. Ward's first touchdown came in the second quarter on a 47-yard run, and that touchdown gave Houston control of the game.
Ward helped Houston put the game away when he scored on a 10-yard run in the third quarter.

RB Johnny Jefferson, Baylor
Injuries at the quarterback position took their toll on the Baylor Bears, and by the time they took the field against the Texas Longhorns in the regular-season finale, head coach Art Briles had little more than a one-dimensional running game to carry his team's offense.
While that was not enough to get the Bears a win against Texas, running back Johnny Jefferson left it all on the field for the Bears. Jefferson carried the ball 23 times for 158 yards and a touchdown. Jefferson gained many of his yards after he took a direct snap from center, and that told the Longhorns the Bears were running the ball.
Even without any deception, Jefferson averaged 6.9 yards per carry.
