4-Star OT Ja'Raymond Hall Commits to Michigan over Michigan State, Among Others
Jim Harbaugh gave Michigan a major boost in his first season as head coach, taking the Wolverines from 5-7 to a very competitive 9-3 record.
Harbaugh is paying dividends off the field, too. The latest success came Saturday when 4-star 2017 offensive tackle Ja'Raymond Hall made his pledge to the Wolverines, per Steve Lorenz of 247Sports. He also announced the move on his personal Twitter feed.
Hall, an Oak Park, Michigan, native, gives the Wolverines their first offensive line pledge for the Class of 2017. He stands 6’5”, 270 pounds and is rated as the No. 30 offensive tackle in the 2017 class. His commitment is not a surprise, as he had received an early offer from Michigan, but it continues Harbaugh’s commitment to build a strong offensive line.
Michigan currently has four offensive-line commitments (and three offensive tackles) in its 2016 class, led by offensive tackle Ben Bredeson, the nation's No. 37-overall prospect.

Hall is ranked as the No. 204 prospect nationally on the 247Sports composite and the No. 5 overall prospect in the state of Michigan. He had offers from Ole Miss, Penn State and Tennessee as well as Bowling Green and Miami, and had interest from Michigan State, Minnesota and Ohio State.
He had made multiple unofficial visits to Michigan this fall while also checking out Tennessee and Michigan State. Hall has the frame to add bulk and mass but already looked solid this fall, playing both left tackle and right tackle and consistently opening up holes for Oak Park’s offense, pushing and pancaking opponents well downfield.
Hall is Michigan’s fourth commitment for 2017. He joins running back Kurt Taylor, tight end Carter Dunaway and cornerback Benjamin St-Juste. The Wolverines currently rank No. 13 nationally in 247Sports’ 2017 class rankings, but with another solid season under Harbaugh’s watch, that ranking could certainly rise.
Having an in-state building block like Hall certainly helps, as well.
