Kubiak Comments on Vasquez's Status
Monday, Nov. 30
Broncos head coach Gary Kubiak revealed Vasquez is considered day-to-day.
Vasquez's Absence Would've Been Major Blow to Broncos' Offensive Line
Vasquez has been a rock on Denver's offensive line since joining the team in 2013. The 28-year-old has started all 42 games over the past three seasons, becoming one of the leaders on the line after the team lost Orlando Franklin in free agency and Ryan Clady to a season-ending knee injury.
The Broncos' depth chart shows Max Garcia is the only backup guard on the roster. The rookie from Florida has appeared in nine games this season, but Vasquez's experience and leadership would've been impossible to replace.
Kubiak likes to utilize play-action passing, so protection up front is essential to the success of his offense. Denver has built a talented roster, but the offensive line will be a big concern down the stretch for a team that's relying on untested quarterback Brock Osweiler.
