Thomas Placed on IR

Adam Schefter of ESPN reported the Chiefs made the roster move to end Thomas' season.
Thomas' Absence Most Strongly Felt in Return Game
Losing Thomas means the Chiefs don't just lose a dynamic playmaker on offense. He is a difference-maker in Kansas City's punt- and kick-return game. Chiefs.com reporter Pete Sweeney said rookie Chris Conley is handling kick-return duties, and Jeremy Maclin becomes the primary punt-return option, per BJ Kissel of Chiefs.com.
Without Thomas, the Chiefs are down a crucial weapon they need. Charcandrick West becomes the primary playmaker out of the backfield for Kansas City, which is fine, considering how well West has played since taking over the starting duties for Jamaal Charles.
But it's tough to replace a guy like Thomas who can do almost anything with the football in his hands. He may be having a down year with only one touchdown this season, but that doesn't diminish the impact the 22-year-old can make.
