Ginn Returns Despite Being Ruled Out

Ralph Vacchiano of the New York Daily News noted Ginn's return to the field despite the fact the Panthers announced he would not return to the contest.
Ginn Has Emerged As a Top Target for Newton
Ginn has remained quite healthy in eight prior NFL seasons, missing no more than three games in any year. The 30-year-old has always been a tantalizing talent because of his elite speed as well—4.38-second 40-yard dash, according to NFLDraftScout.com—but he's never mastered the nuances of the wide receiver position.
Ginn has struggled with drops all season, letting eight passes hit the turf heading into Week 15. Despite the inconsistency, though, he's a deep threat whose talents complement cannon-armed quarterback Cam Newton well.
Rookie second-round pick Devin Funchess has slowly but surely been catching on and has emerged as a bigger part of Carolina's passing game. The Michigan product will go back to his role alongside Ginn in the Panthers' passing attack.
