Seth Rollins Must Be Featured as a Top WWE Star After Return from Injury
Seth Rollins is on the shelf right now with an injury, and most of the talk revolves around what WWE should do next. Roman Reigns, Dean Ambrose, Cesaro and Dolph Ziggler have all been debated upon by fans in regards to just who the company should move forward with in a top role.
But though Rollins is out, he is not forgotten. The former WWE world heavyweight champion deserves to come back in a big way when the time comes and that means he should be featured as a top star.
For a guy who was on top of the world before, Rollins caught a lot of heat.

That heat came mostly from fans and the majority of the heat had really nothing to do with Rollins on a personal level. Many agreed he was doing a good job with the title and that he deserved the spotlight he was enjoying.
However, that spotlight was shining down on him during times when he perhaps could have looked better.
Rollins' booking became a major complaint of many, mostly because of the cowardice his character showed in the ring. The way he won matches was of concern, too, as he did not win cleanly all that often. In fact his most convincing win recently came against Kane at Hell in a Cell on October 25.
Before that night, though, John Cena owned Rollins. Cena is still the top guy in WWE, but some fans began to seriously question why Rollins even had the belt, considering he always seemed to come up short.
Why not give the championship back to Cena and feature Rollins in a secondary role with no viable main event foothold? Wasn't his role diminished in the eyes of fans? For anyone who answered yes to that question, Rollins' title run was indeed beyond frustrating.
The issue was not because of Rollins' inexperience in a major role under Vince McMahon, but how he was handled when he got the spot.
Now Rollins' absence is surely being felt. The man had become a true workhorse in WWE, a star who put in the time and effort to not only entertain but to get better. He took on a tremendous workload, and he did so without complaint.
Like any champion in the old-school days of the business, Rollins embraced the spot he had and owned it as if the championship itself was a true prize, legitimately won or lost in the ring. Rollins was very believable in his role and really no one else in WWE at the time could compare to everything he did in the ring as champion.
That hard work must pay off in the end.
Rollins must be seen as something more than just a sellout champ when he returns. He handled himself like a pro the first time around, and his work went a long way to not just getting himself over but getting the belt over as well.
This must not be forgotten because when he does return, he will likely not do so as the top titleholder in the company.
WWE does have to fill that spot, of course, and Rollins surely understands that. But that does not mean his role should change when he comes back. He should be given a chance to slide back in, to pick up where he left off and hopefully get a little better in terms of the booking.
That could mean he will turn face upon his return, which, depending on what WWE does in the meantime, could make perfect sense for him.
If either Reigns or Ambrose end up joining forces with Triple H as the next champ, then Rollins would be justified in betraying The Authority when he comes back. The move would be logical, especially considering Rollins did his level best to make them happy the first time around.
Seeing him go back to them, only to be turned away because he's been replaced, should spark his character change. The heat he has with his former Shield teammates is eternal, and that means a new feud would work on every level.
Of course, if WWE is not interested in Rollins turning face then he could remain heel.
This is likely what many want to see, mostly because he was just so good at being hated. If this is the way the company goes, then it could work out even better if a babyface champion is in place. That would put Rollins back in a prime spot to make an impact and hopefully regain the footing he will lose during his time away.
Whatever WWE decides to do with him when he returns, there is no doubting Rollins deserves a fair shake. He did nothing to lose his spot, and he should get a shot at it when he comes back. A talent like him needs to be rewarded for his hard work, and that can only come with a real chance at a top spot once again.
But the next time, that top spot must be booked the right way. Without it, Rollins will be in the same tough position he was before.
