Hankins Injury Leaves Major Hole in Giants Defense
Hankins' injury is indeed a big blow to a struggling New York defense that ranks last in total yards allowed per contest. After registering seven sacks last season, Hankins didn't manage any in 2015 but did rack up 30 combined tackles.
Ralph Vacchiano of the New York Daily News provided his take on the situation:
In general, the Giants have had trouble pressuring the opposing quarterback, ranking at the bottom of the league with just nine sacks this year. Fans have to be hoping Jason Pierre-Paul can generate a pass rush with his return to the lineup, which will be even more difficult with Hankins out of action.
