Larry Fitzgerald, Michael Floyd, J.J. Nelson's Post-Week 8 Fantasy Advice
For a while, it appeared the Cleveland Browns would pull off one of the season's biggest upsets by taking down the Arizona Cardinals. Then Arizona's offense kicked into high gear and flipped the narrative.
Carson Palmer threw four touchdown passes—two going to tight end Troy Niklas—as Arizona scored 27 unanswered points to earn a 34-20 victory in Cleveland on Sunday. Palmer completed passes to seven receivers, with Michael Floyd leading the way with 106 yards. Larry Fitzgerald added a game-high nine grabs for 84 yards, while J.J. Nelson also had 70 yards on three receptions.
Here is a look at how the Cardinals' pass-catchers fared overall and an assessment of their fantasy value going forward.

Rookie WRs Who Will Outplay Their Draft Value 📈
Michael Floyd
Floyd has scored in three straight games, but it'd be crazy to begin counting on him now. Floyd's only consistent trait is his inconsistency. Before this recent run of success, Floyd had one or fewer receptions in four of the Cardinals' first five games.
And even his touchdown-filled three games have been dependent on getting into the end zone. Floyd hasn't had more than five receptions in a game this season, and his max targets have been eight; he's barely a flex play in leagues on weeks he fails to score. It's clear he's third on the Cardinals' pecking order behind John Brown and Fitzgerald, who has had double-digit targets three times this season.
If Floyd is still available in your league, he's worth a pickup for the simple fact Arizona's offense is humming. Just don't expect him to suddenly return to 2013 form. The likelihood of that happening is slim, and Brown will be back soon enough to take away more targets.
Larry Fitzgerald
There's not much new to say here. Fitzgerald is in the midst of a surprising career renaissance at age 32. After three straight years below 1,000 receiving yards, Fitzgerald is on pace to blow past that number and could even challenge his career high (1,431) if his current pace continues.
Fitz has acclimated beautifully to his new slot-heavy role. He and Palmer connect on more than 80 percent of their attempts, an unthinkably high rate, and the ability to play underneath has taken the focus off the aging wideout's lack of downfield burst.
There are no leagues in which Fitzgerald should be sitting on your bench. He's a points-per-reception stud and a solid option in standard leagues. Dynasty and keeper leagues are a little iffier; one might consider selling high and hoping a desperate owner would give up a high-upside youngster. In weekly or yearly leagues, though, there's no reason to hop off the Fitzgerald train now.
J.J. Nelson
Brown was hurt. The Cardinals needed a replacement. Nelson made three catches on four targets and seemed to bring some level of dynamism with the ball in his hands. But that's about it. He's a one-week guy not worth another look in any formats.
Brown will be back soon enough, and Arizona's hierarchy will return to normal. Unless you're in some crazy 32-team keeper format, it's best to just chalk this up to an anomaly.
