UK Back Pages: Jose Mourinho Could Lose Chelsea Job with Defeat in Next Game

Mark PattersonOct 25, 2015

Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho's future at Stamford Bridge is hanging by a thread, judging by Monday's back pages.

Reports suggest that defeat against Liverpool in their next league game would be the final straw and that contingency plans for his exit are already being made.

The tone on the likes of the Daily Express, Daily Star and Daily Mail is very similar, suggesting that the comments have some foundation:

It's a remarkable fall from grace for Mourinho, but the Daily Mirror also suggests that the Blues are losing patience with the Portuguese boss' "antics":

The Mirror are one of the papers to pick up on the vacancy at Aston Villa, reporting that Remi Garde is the front-runner for the gig. The Guardian go the same route, as do the Sun:

Meanwhile, in terms of looking back at Sunday's games, the form of Wayne Rooney is the talking point, with the Metro and the Daily Telegraph's football supplement leading on quotes from Louis van Gaal that he's sick of talking about it:

"

And, of course, sprinkled across all the back pages, as you can see, are tributes to Lewis Hamilton. He claimed his third Formula One world title with victory in the United States Grand Prix.
