Jones Out vs. Packers

Sunday, Jan. 10

The Redskins confirmed Jones is among the team's inactives for the Wild Card Game with Green Bay.

Latest on Jones' Practice Status

Thursday, Jan. 7

Jones was "very limited" in Thursday's session for the second day in a row, per Tarik El-Bashir of CSNMidAtlantic.com.

Gruden Comments on Jones' Status

Thursday, Dec. 31

Head coach Jay Gruden told reporters that Jones "tried to push it yesterday and it didn't feel right, so we kept him out today." On Dec. 30, Gruden said Jones had limited mobility and was "legit hurt" with a hip pointer, per Scout.com's Breaking Burgundy.

Jones Became a Vital Part of Redskins' RB Committee

Jones has split time in the backfield with Alfred Morris and Chris Thompson throughout his first season in the NFL. He has displayed an intriguing combination of power and speed but hasn't broken through and established himself as the team's go-to rusher.

Injuries have played a role in that. He missed time after suffering a big-toe injury against the Atlanta Falcons in Week 5. He sat out for only one game before quickly rejoining the rotation, though.

Both Morris and Thompson have seen an increase in snaps while Jones has been on the sideline. Morris will likely continue to receive the early-down and short-yardage work, while Thompson will remain present in passing situations.
